Good Wednesday gang. Many of are probably sick and tired of hearing the same forecast day after day… but try being the person ho has to give that same forecast every single day.
Tuesday was another hot and humid one across the state with most areas well into the middle 90s for highs. The Louisville area topped out at the century mark as the beat of heat rolls on. Today is likely to be another hot one with readings as a few showers and thunderstorms try to get going. The longer term continues to look cooler… but we still have more heat and storms before we can get there.
As mentioned… the heat and humidity will be with us again today as readings head back into the low and mid 90s. It will feel like 100 or so again today. Blah Blah Blah. Areas across the west will be much hotter… you know that drill by now.
Scattered showers and storms will crank up and these will be slow movers that can put down locally heavy rains.
A higher risk of showers and storms will be with us Thursday into early Friday. Outside of the storms Thursday… temps will be back into the low 90s. With the storms… it will be mid and upper 80s. Friday is looking a bit drier at this point meaning hello 90s! Those 90s will likely hold into the coming weekend.
It is by later Sunday and Monday we start to feel the impact of a cold front making it across the region. This front is likely to kick off showers and thunderstorms as it ushers in a MUCH cooler brand of air for much of next week. The heat will get kicked out west for several days as the eastern half of the country gets a much deserved break.
The Gulf of Mexico is now home of Tropical Depression number 5. This may become a Tropical Storm over the next day or so as it heads toward Louisiana…
This looks like another weak system. That said… the models are throwing out a lot of signs of a potentially active period taking shape over the next few weeks. Some are even trying to develop something else in the Gulf early next week.
Stay cool and have a great Wednesday… This is not a recording!
Take care.

If the front coming in this weekend absorbs the moisture from TD5 and enhances the rains across the Bluegrass this weekend, that would be AWESOME. The grass and small trees are still on life support over here….
Southeast Lexington got a ton of rain late yesterday from one big giant cloud. It didn’t cool things down though. It felt like a tropical rain forest outside.
Did anyone see the big brawl last night besides me? Reds need to win tonight to get some mojo back.
I am so over this ridiculous heat. 🙁
Wow, did my electric bill go up! I am glad I have air conditioning through this heat though. Here at work, our offices are without air conditioning today. When I walked in this morning, the heat almost knocked me back out the door. Everyone try to stay cool today.
Have no fear, loyal subjects. I shall deliver to all some aqueous nirvana in the days to come!!!
My highest electric bill ever was $161, last month it was $245.
The vegetation in my part of the woods is very stressed now, there has been less than .1 of rain in 13 days according to my gauge. We need the rain badly.
You do need rain! We had a hard rain shower for a little while yesterday evening after I got home. (Just north of Hazard).
I dread seeing my next electric bill. It was close to $200.00 for this last month.
Looks like the game in Cincy will be interrupted..
That delay did not come soon enough. Arroyo just gave up a grand slam.
Going to take a look at the severe parameters today as the storms look a little bit more (although VERY LITTLE) organized than they were yesterday.
Good coverage..now can Richmond proper get some rain today?
We’re still working with no air conditioning. Please rain!
I can’t believe that I have heavy rain 5 miles north and 5 miles south of me. Again. My town is cursed! Bone dry, hot, and no relief. Sigh…
It is starting to get cloudy here and the temp has dropped form 95f to 91f at my house in the last little bit. It looks like I may actually get some real RAIN!!!
Jake
*twiddles thumbs*
Within 25 miles of rain now…..but still waiting.
The core died before arrival again, but we did manage about 15 minutes of rain.
OMG……..Nothing in my part of Lexington……
The core didn’t die, it’s in eastern KY now. It just died at the very moment it moved over us, only to re fire later that’s all….Oh well, I’m going to catch up on Grey’s Anatomy
Lots of dark clouds, but very little rain in Northern Jessamine. The rain we got, didn’t even get the pavement under the trees wet. I see all these yellows and reds on the radar, but never over us, ugh.
