Good Sunday everyone and thanks for checking out the blog. We are wrapping up a very nice weekend here in early August as temps have been on the normal side with low humidity levels and plenty of sunshine. This was long overdue from mother nature. Here is hoping you enjoyed it because the heat is coming back this week and is likely to bring another round of torrid temps. The question is… can thunderstorms tame the heat? That is a growing possibility… but make no mistake about it… it is going to get VERY hot once again for a few days.

Let’s start with today as we have another winner of a weather day. Highs will run in the mid and upper 80s for much of the region with more sunshine. The west will be MUCH hotter once again with low and mid 90s. The very dry ground out there is really taking a toll on that region.

The heat settles in Monday with everybody in the low to middle 90s. The west pushes 100.

Tuesday and Wednesday appear to be the hottest days of the week… though Wednesday may have some storms that try to jump into the mix. High temps Tuesday should be in the middle 90s across the entire area… with a few upper 90s looking very possible.

Wednesday would be equally as hot… but we must watch for a few storms to go up. If that is the case… highs that day would fall short of the torrid levels. Something else to watch for in that same time period would be a possible tropical or hybrid system trying to crank across the Gulf of Mexico. The NAM seems to like this idea..

Wednesday Morning

If something cranks down there it is certainly possible some of the moisture gets pumped northward toward our region.

Shower and thunderstorm chances will be on the rise regardless for Thursday and Friday. This would knock our temps back down several degrees. That does not mean we would be done with the heat as it fights back in just beyond that. There are some signs showing up that we may actually see some changes in the overall hot pattern for the second half of August that could lead to cooler times!

Have a great Sunday and take care.
