Good Sunday and Happy 4th of July! After a string of very pleasant temps days… the heat and humidity made a return visit Saturday and is likely to hang around for several days to come. The temps into the middle of the upcoming week should be the hottest of the summer… so far.

Let’s break it all down with the headlines…

– Cookouts today will be met with temps near 90 in many places. A low 90 here or there is certainly possible. Humidity levels will be high so take it easy out there. The smallest chance for a popcorn storm is with us too.

– The heat will REALLY crank up from Monday through Thursday. Highs will easily reach the low and middle 90s for much of the region. Heat index values should top out around 100 or better during this time. I am really growing more and more impressed with the heat coming this week.

– The pattern will grow more stormy by the end of the week into the weekend and could really get wet next week. This should also lead to much cooler temps than what we see this week.

– The potential for the tropics to produce some home grown development is alive and well in the coming weeks.

Since it is the 4th… I leave you with some fireworks…

Happy 4th of July and take care.
