Good Saturday everyone and welcome to the 4th of July holiday weekend! It is the time of year when we take time out to do something we should be doing a lot more of and that is giving thanks for this great nation we live in. It is also the time for parades… fireworks… cookouts and… well… whatever else floats your holiday boat.
The weather has been amazing of late and we are hoping to keep that streak going for a while longer. The headlines breaks it all down for you…
– Today will be the day the temps start to get back into the uncomfortable level. Highs will reach the mid and upper 80s as the humidity levels spike up.
– Independence Day Sunday sees readings head toward 90 with even more humidity in the air. I must throw out as small chance for a popcorn thunderstorm during this time. These should be few and far between… but I see enough to mention it.
– Odds continue to favor much hotter temps into the first half of next weeks. Readings in the low and mid 90s will be very possible. Combine those readings with high humidity levels and the feel like index can easily climb toward 100 degrees.
– Much farther down the road… the seeds are already being planted for a cool down for the following week for much of the eastern half of the country.
– Tropical weather buffs need to keep an eye on the “close to home” development over the next few weeks as things look to get cranking in the Gulf and off the southeast coastline.
That’s it for now… have a great Saturday and take care.
As a heat hater, I shall latch onto Chris’ words about the seeds being planted for a cool down within the next two weeks. Keep talking about that because other weather sources are acting like the Ring of Fire is here to stay and we will never get rain again. 🙂
We won’t stay without rain forever, have no fear. 🙂
Loving this weather! Happy 4th everyone.
An old saying that holds true most (but not all the time) is that the first 3 days of dog days will rule throughout dog days. Today is the 1st day of dog days and Monday is the third one. If it stays dry these 3 days, then it will be dryer than average for the duration of dog days which ends August 11th or close to that. Everyone have a great 4th of July.
I have heard that, too!?
Here is to a WONDERFUL July 4th. to ALL on the Blog!!!:)
