Good Friday everyone and welcome to the weekend. We are wrapping up an amazing few days of weather across the region. The weather has been more typical of September than the middle of summer and that has left a lot of us spoiled. Temps will start getting back to where they should be as we roll into next week… so enjoy it while it lasts.
Today will be yet another very nice day as temps warm toward the low 80s for highs with more in the way of sun. Lows to start the day will be in the low and middle 50s in a lot of areas. Can some of the colder locations crack into the upper 40s? That is a possibility. If it happens you will see it here on the list of low temps from Kentucky Mesonet…
The 4th of July Holiday Weekend will see temps warming up… but I firmly contend the degree of warming is not going to be what some are forecasting. Granted, I am not even in the state of Kentucky at the moment… but looking at all the data and forecasts… I am seeing something that doesn’t quite add up. I have seen forecasts that are calling for middle 90s for the 4th of July. I am only seeing the models spitting out 85mb temps of +18c and that my friends does not equate to middle 90s. Heck… we had 850mb temps of better than +20c a few weeks back and that could only get us into the low 90s. i could be totally wrong… and it would NOT be the first time. Either way… we shall see what Sunday brings.
My thoughts go like this…
– Saturday will see temps warming into the middle 80s across most of the area with more sun continuing. Western Ky will push 90.
– 4th of July Sunday should see temps warming to 85-90 in most areas with low 90s in the west. Sunny skies return.
– The hottest air actually waits to move in early next week with readings likely working into the lower 90s. The core of the heat actually looks to be setting up along the east coast. Once again… we only get the cusp and not the core of the hot temps.
– With the heat will come the next chance for showers and storms. It should be a week where the pattern tries to go stormy before all is said and done. This should also knock the temps back down some.
Since the weather has been so nice of late… let’s break out the hammer with the song that Mother Nature has been singing the past few days…
Have a great Friday and take care.
Houses are expensive and not every person can buy it. Nevertheless, home loans was invented to help different people in such kind of hard situations.
ahhh how refreshing!!… 49* !!! on July 2nd!!… what a nice breath of fresh air…to bad it wont hang around for a few more days, but it sure is a nice change.. fall like!!
It’s starting to look like the ridge will anchor itself tight on the southeast coast…keeping us hot with no rain through this weekend and next week too. I’m digging out my sprinklers tonight.
Awesome
I actually got cold going to work this mornng at a little after 6:00 a.m.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!!!
As chilly as it was this morning, the temp in my house was still warm enough for the A/C to kick on. I don’t understand how it can be in that chilly outside and be 20 degrees warmer in the house. Electronics I suppose
Insulation.
