Good Thursday everyone. The weather is gorgeous, but rather boring across the area and much of the country. Hurricane Alex is now ashore in northern Mexico so that means there is officially NOTHING to talk about in the world of weather. This September like pattern is leading to some slow times for your friendly weather dude.
Alex ramped up before making landfall late Wednesday evening and will go down as one of the strongest June Hurricanes on record. That is officially a warning signal about the rest of the tropical season as it means business this year.
Around here… it will be more of the same on our Thursday as temps warm into the upper 70s to low 80s yet again with more in the way of sunny skies. Lows this morning will likely range from the low to mid 50s.
Track this morning’s lows here…
Friday looks like another winner as temps warm toward the lower 80s with more sun. The 4th of July weekend will see thermometers warm into the middle 80s with… you guesses it… more sunshine.
If you are looking for our next chance of rain… you will have toward the middle and end of NEXT week…
GFS Wednesday Morning
Okay… thats as much as I can say about nothing! Have a great Wednesday and take care.
This has been my kind of weather, but a little rain would be nice.
Thanks Chris!
The blog is dead. Let’s try this..
SNOW!!!!!!! GFS says SNOWSTORM!
I absolutely love today’s weather!!!
Thank you for everything you do Chris.
If you ever want to see how (I think) a storm damage survey of a major tornado should be done, check out this page from the folks at the NWS office in Sioux Falls, SD (FSD) regarding the EF4 tornado that struck near Sibley, Iowa last Friday night:

Snnnnnoooowwwwwwww!!!!!!
I don’t see an immediate need for rain right now, so I will take this weather and enjoy it.
The NWS has Sunday and Monday in the mid-90’s for my neck of the woods. (Bourbon County) Will it be a prolonged heat wave or just a quick shot of misery? We will definitely need some rain by next week. Oh well, I can handle watering my flowers on a day like today. It’s gorgeous!
What a beautiful day! Its amazing the difference between a 45 dew point and a 75 dew point..
Perfect weather 79 degrees with slight breeze
Low 90’s for the 4th. the gfs has 90 ish and the euro has 95-100 from the nws discussions and looking at the general pattern the model has (no public access to certain features of the ecmwf model). I think that Chris is to low with mid 80’s but we’ll see. I don’t think the 90+ heat will last past wednesday.
