Good Tuesday everyone. We are entering into one heck of a nice period of weather across the state that will likely carry us into the upcoming 4th of July Holiday Weekend. Between now and then… we are going to get a little taste of September weather.
Before we get to some tracking maps on soon to be Hurricane Alex.. let’s break down the local weather with the headlines…
– A second cold front will be crossing the region today… this front has the actually cool air behind it for mid week. It MAY have just enough juice to touch off an isolated shower or storm. Most everyone should stay dry today.
– Temps today will range from the low to mid 80s.
– The cooler and drier air takes hold for Wednesday and Thursday as highs range from the mid to upper 70s! Lows from Wednesday through Friday mornings will be in the 50s.
– The 4th of July weekend looks dry as temps warm back into the 80s.
The main focus of the weather the next few days will be down in the Gulf of Mexico and soon to be Hurricane Alex that will take aim on the Texas and Mexico coasts. This is impressive that the first storm out of the gate is going to become a hurricane and all before July first.
I mentioned Alex will be a rather broad storm and you can certainly see that on satellite…
Here is the latest official track from the National Hurricane Center…
Some of the latest hurricane forecast model tracks have been shifting around a bit between Texas and Mexico. You can see that here…
I will have more on Alex as it gets closer to making landfall and should have some live cams up from within the path of the storm.
Have a great Tuesday and take care.
I love tropical weather. I leave for the Bahamas in about 10 days for two and a half weeks. The closest thing to any tropical weather I’ve experienced down there (other than the sunshine), is a tropical wave that touched off some storms, and the extreme outer edges of Hurricane Dennis….we only got cloudy skies and alot of wind.
You can call it great weather if you want to. I call it B O R I N G . . . . .
Good weather is still weather.
This is skydiving weather.
You can’t mow a yard in the rain, so I will take this. 🙂
And if it stays like this much longer there won’t be a yard to mow!
I agree with that! Not that I had to, but I’ve broken down a couple of times already and brought out the sprinkler. Little to no rain at my place in Lexington in quite a while.
Weather couldn’t be any better than what it is now so that is GREAT WEATHER
My grass always seems to stay moist, lol. Trust me this isn’t anywhere close to a drought yet.
