A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is now out for most of the bluegrass state until 2am. Clusters of severe storms will race from northwest to southeast across the area with damaging winds and large hail.
Torrential rainfall may lead to flash flooding issues.

Torrential RAIN would be an understatement right now!!!
Not raining here yet in south Lexington but will be starting within the next minute or so. The sky looks the scariest I have seen in a good while! Looks green and nonstop lightning and thunder! Batten down the hatches!!!
Frankly – I’ve seen much much worse than this…….But the rain was very heavy!! But not a huge amount of wind…….some wind, yes, but not wind where you were scared of it doing damage……At least in my back yard…….Not sure about other areas…….the radar looks terrible though.
Being a Florida native, I have seen a plethora of storms but they usually don’t get severe believe it or not. I’ve never seen hail before and the whole storms with strong winds is uncommon also. And lightning? That is so common, just about every storm has this much lightning that is nonstop but I am very used to it. (and heavy rain like this storm is very common)

Very high winds here for a short period.Not much rain but what did fall had some small hail mixed in.We lost power for about an hour.As of now its rather quiet.The wind was so strong it was laying everything sideways.I can see quiet a bit of leaves and small limbs scattered about by shinning the spotlight.Very dark so hard to tell but I think I will have a bit of clean up to do in the morning.Thankfully nothing major as far as I can tell.Do NOT like night time storms at all.Hoping its over but looks like there could be more to the north of us heading down this way.
