Good Afternoon everyone. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is out for much of eastern Kentucky until 6pm this evening. A line of storms is developing ahead of a cold front that is dropping southeast across the area. Damaging winds and large hail are the biggest threats from these storms.
Here is a look at the watch…
Here is a look at the latest warnings…
Here are your storm tracking radars…
I will have updates as needed and will use twitter to send out rapid updates and warnings fo follow me… @Kentuckyweather . These updates can also be seen in the top right hand corner of the blog.
Take care.
Thanks, Chris! Keep us posted, and send a little of that rain our way, too, please!
getting a line of storms moving south through northern ky. and popcorn storms popping up in southern ky…anyone got any cheese and butter!!!…LOL…
getting a HEAVY popcorn shower at my house right now…:)
The line has erupted! And in perfect timing, looks like EKY could be seeing some nice storms if the line continues to build rapidly (which i think it will)
be alert for severe thunderstorm warnings!!! to start firing up this line is getting impressive, and those pop up storms here in southern ky. are getting wild as well, the one that just moved through my back yard here in knox co. has alot of heavy rain/thunder/lightning, severe lightning at that!!!…so CAUTION IS ADVISED!!!…
WAY TO GO CHRIS!!! FOR STAYING ON TOP OF THE SITUATION 🙂
you rock chris as a weather man. always keeping us informed.
