Good Wednesday to one and all. It has been rather hot and humid across the state over the past several days… but it’s been nothing really out of the ordinary. Today is likely to be the hottest of the bunch as temps reach the low and maybe middle 90s for a lot of the region. Western Kentucky can reach the upper 90s in aΒ  few spots.

Combine the humidity levels with the actual air temp and you can get a heat index value to top 100 degrees in a few spots.

I have the real time temp sites from across the state for your temp tracking pleasures… if you are into that kind of thing.

The threat it there for some scattered storms to go up… mainly across the north and east. If they do you will find them here…

A cold front will drop into the area Thursday and should bring a line of showers and storms with it. Some of these could be on the strong side. You can see the action showing up here on the NAM for Thursday afternoon…

Highs will come down several degrees with mid and upper 80s likely for Thursday. Slightly cooler and drier air will be with us for Friday as the sun returns. Highs will likely be in the middle 80s for a lot of areas.

The heat and humidity will surge back in for the weekend as temps warm toward the upper 80s and low 90s for highs. A couple of scattered storms could pop up as well.

Looking into next week… the pattern looks to become cooler and wetter as a trough digs into the eastern part of the country. This will send the heat back into the west.Β  A wild card will be the tropics and a possible system across the Gulf of Mexico that may develop this weekend or next week.

Have a great Wednesday andΒ  stay cool.

Take care.
