Good Monday to one and all. Our hot weather is going to slowly get even hotter in the coming days as humidity levels ramp up as well. While the heat is the big player… we still need to watch for a few rounds of thunderstorms that may threaten the area from the west and northwest.
Highs today will warm toward the lower 90s again for a lot of the area. The western parts of the state will soar into the middle 90s once again. The “feel like” temps will hit 100 plus for the western half of the state with upper 90s to near 100 across the east.
Track the temps here…

Temps today MAY be impacted by some thunderstorms that try to roll in from the northwest. Storms would obviously keep the temps lower. Even if storms never make it in here… any leftover clouds would also act to knock thermometers down a degree or two.
Regional radar can help you with your storm tracking needs…

Here is the latest severe weather map from the SPC…
Tuesday will feature more of the same and I believe Wednesday may end up being the hottest day of the week. The European Model shows the heat steaming in here…
A front should increase our threat for some showers and storms by Thursday and will knock the temps down some by the end of the week. You can see this on the European Model…
The heat looks to try to surge back in by the weekend into early the following week.
I will update things as needed so check back. Have a great Monday and take care.
LMK was talking about this MCS turning SE. Looks to me like it’s going NE. I don’t see it even getting close to us.
Perhaps they were referring to the second MCC moving down through Missouri and Iowa?
Things look like they may be about to pop in the Caribbean.
I’m starting to wonder if Northern Kentucky might get clipped. In any case, the local TV Mets in Cincy have been (almost) totally clueless about these systems.
Big thunder and the sky just turned pitch black in Winchester. Not a thing showing on the radar. Not a blip.
OK, now pouring buckets. Still nothing showing on the radar. Must be a stealth storm.
There it is. Under the X in Lexington. Very sneaky.
I agree. Cincy will get hit, and most of northeastern KY will also get stormed upon very well this afternoon. I’m jealous. Vanceburg, Maysville, Ashland…time to tie down the trash cans!
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Boone, Kenton and Grant counties until 1:00pm.
Kudos to the SPC for putting Northern Kentucky under a Slight Risk this morning.
Local TV mets get a Fail for not pointing this fact out.
Flash Flooding will be a concern in the Winchester area I would think. That storm is just sitting there!
have to agree with lmk this thing is turning more southeast now still questionable for lex though. with cape values so high today storms are firing like crazy now near the mcs. should see a watch soon for ne ky.
Been here at Walt Disney World for the past several enjoying some relaxation…Talked to family up in KY and for the past few days, its been hotter in LEX area than it has here in Orlando. Amazing heat. Dread coming back to it tomorrow evening…side note:
if you haven’t been to Disney World in a long time, or never, I highly reccommend a trip here. Its really a beautiful place. We are staying at the Yacht Club at the park, and the people here are really friendly. They sure close the pools quickly though at the first sign of lightning!!!
Yeah so basically it’s going to miss almost all of LMK’s area…which is why at first I was like, what??
