Good Wednesday bloggers. Let me start by saying thanks to those of you who posted updates during the severe weather that rolled across the region Tuesday. I appreciate all you guys do! It has been a seemingly endless run of stormy days around here for the past few weeks. That stormy pattern looks to finally be giving up as we get set for some VERY HOT AND HUMID weather!
We will seeĀ a few more storms out there today… mainly across the east. Outside of the boomers… temps will soar into the mid and upper 80s with a 90 being possible yet again.
If you are sick of seeing the radars on the blog… you are not alone! But… let’s throw them out there for you one more day…
The rest of the forecast looks like this…
– Thursday will see drier weather moving in as humidity levels come down just a bit. High temps will still be into the mid to upper 80s with partly sunny skies.
– The hottest temps of the season to date will roll in here from Friday into the coming weekend and possibly into early next week. Highs during this period will likely range from the lower to middle 90s!
– The “feel like” index during this time will likely top the 100 degree mark leading to possible Heat Advisories.
– There is just a small threat for a popup afternoon or evening thunderstorm during this time.
– This pattern is taking on a hot and humid look for the next few weeks!
So… moral of the story… we will be trading the storms for hot temps!
Have a great Wednesday and take care.
great work chris
About 1:40 storms rolled through Ravenna. Lots of rain and lightning. Thanks to you, Chris, we know what is coming and how bad it will be. Keep up the great work that you do!
Chris, we appreciate all you do for us. We all do what we can to help, but you are the one keeping the whole operation going.
That first line went through my part of Bourbon County with no major anxious moments for me, the wind fearing scaredy cat. We had another downpour in the middle of the night. All told, we’ve had over FIVE inches of rain since Sunday! That being said, how the heck can it be so dang hot?? Where’s that “cooling effect”? How hot would it be if the ground was bone dry? Wait a sec, I don’t think I want to know!
Let’s all think of the people working along the Gulf Coast in heavy hazmat suits. It’s every bit as hot and humid down there, if not even worse. I was raised down there and the humidity is beyond stifling. There is no air.
The line was a dud by the time it hit Lawrenceburg/Frankfort areas. 35 MPH winds, very little lightning, brief heavy rainfall. That was it. It was a powerful line to our west, but once the sun set it died fast.
I’m not tired of seeing radars on the blog. I love to look at them.
Thanks for everything you do, Chris!
I love the radars, Chris! Don’t take them off! It’s much nicer to click on your blog than wait for “Weather on the 8s” on the Weather Channel!
well there goes the green grass again. even with all the storms lately, I havent managed to get much in my own yard talk about a donut hole…lol….. I’d rather have the stormy pattern…FORGET THE HEAT WAVE, and 100’s…that stinks..
Didn’t get anything here last nite either. I can really do without the hot and humid. No AC in my old house and it’s been awful.
about 1am or so there was some lightning and thunder, not sure how much rain we got with that round, but after looking around this morning, we ended up getting quite a bit of rain here. and plz dont take the radars! we love them! thanks for all you have done Chris!
Me either Char! I come to the blog JUST for the radar sometimes!
The last two lines have been pretty much dud’s in my part of Lexington compared to what I’ve seen in the past. It really surprised me because it was so hot and muggy with high dew points. Why did they fall apart?
How do you stand it? Do you have shade trees? I had the HVAC guy here yet again today. If anyone remembers, the compressor was replaced this past Jan. It froze up last night and the tech said it was 2 lbs low of coolant but there was no leak…..I would think there would HAVE to be a leak for it to be 2lbs low, unless it was 2lbs low when they replaced the compressor and didn’t fully charge it. Oh well, it’s working now and feels great!
