Good Saturday, everyone. Our weekend is off and running with scattered showers and thunderstorms roaming about the bluegrass state. Muggy and very warm continue to rule the roost. This whole setup shows little signs of changing over the next several days.
We shouldn’t see as many storms today as we’ve had in recent days, but scattered boomers will continue. Any storm that flares up could be on the strong side.
Current temperatures

Isolates showers and storms will be around into Sunday with highs in the mid 80s in the north and east and around 90 west. Many thermometers could flirt with 90 on Monday as high humidity levels return. This will also aid in the development of a storm or two.
Those storm chances will continue to be noted through the week…
The models continue to insist rounds of showers and storms will be common over the next 10 days…
Have a great Saturday and take care.
Thanks Chris. We finally got a pretty good shower last night. Thought it was going to storm pretty good but it didn’t. Garden variety which is fine with me. We could use some more and it certainly looks like the chances are there! Have a great Saturday everyone and stay cool!
I had always wondered what Heating Degree Days were and what they were used for. Well, the folks at the NWS in Louisville have satisfied that wonder here: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=lmk&storyid=102936&source=0
A nice break today in east frankfort after a wild ride last night, my house received wind damage to the gutters and parts of the roof, some huge trees came down in the hood also, insurance time Monday 🙁
I live along the KY river in Woodford county between the lock in Frankfort (at Jim’s Seafood) and the lock that is close to Tyrone Bridge on the Anderson/Woodford line. We had some rain, but really no wind to speak of. I am glad the storm weakened before it reached here.
