Good Monday, everyone. Showers and thunderstorms will continue to increase over the next few days. With ample moisture in the atmosphere, heavy rainfall is a good bet. I suspect most areas will pick up an inch or more of rain before the week is over.
The storms today will slowly increase as we head through the afternoon. Any storm that blows up could be on the strong side with high winds and hail.
Track away…

Watch how the showers and storms continue to increase in the coming days…
Again, we will have to watch for some strong storms that put down a lot of water in a short amount of time.
The GFS is showing us some pretty good rain totals through the coming weekend…
I hope the rainfall pans out
I need it at my location.
Thanks Chris. We could use some good rain here in Somerset. It is getting pretty dry, at least at my house. Won’t hurt the lake any either, as we are just getting things close to normal and the dry weather has put a damper on it rising a bit more. Hopefully we can get some much needed rain over the entire state, if the projections hold true. In any event, it’s Monday so lets get this one over with and move on with the rest of the week! Have a great Monday everyone.
Looking like most of the rain will be in western KY today, maybe better chances tomorrow for east and central?
This is by far the most miserable day of this current heat wave. I’m really hoping for some good thunderstorms to somehow hit my little abode.
I believe this is day number 8 of 90 plus degree weather for Louisville. Nothing real shocking very typical weather for this time of year. However I do agree with Kelly parts of the commonwealth could really use the rain. Some are getting plenty others myself included are getting none. Nothing more frustrating then hearing the thunder and seeing the lightning from a distance and the storm fizzles out before getting to the folks that need it.
if it does not rain in Louisville today after seeing these great radar returns.
we might be known as the southeastern Kentucky in the summer.
