Good Saturday, folks. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are rumbling across Kentucky this weekend. These storms will put down some beneficial rain, but it may come with a bit of a price. A few spots could get in on enough rain to cause some local high water issues.
I really have no changes to the thoughts I have been throwing out there for the past week or so Let’s recap…
– Showers and storms ramp up today… especially in the afternoon and evening. Locally heavy rains will be a good bet and I can’t rule out a strong storm or two. Highs will be held closer to 80 degrees.
– Sunday will see similar conditions with temps back into the 80s for most.
– Scattered showers and storms continue into early next week as temps head close to 90. Booming storms are possible on Tuesday as a strong cold front drops in.
– A big temperature change is likely once this front blows through. Check out the temp departure change…
– That likely means some much better weather moving in as we get closer to the 4th of July.
I leave you with all your tracking toys for the day…
Rainfall
Have a great Saturday and take care.
Thanks Chris. Hope the race can run tonight in Sparta. We finally got a pretty good rain for a bit last night. Wouldn’t mind some more but want no flooding issues . Ha e a super Saturday everyone,
Outside wedding to go to today not looking good at all.
Looking like eastern half of state getting most of the rain love today, my area of frankfort only .20 rain since last night, was expecting much more than this by the way the forecast was sounding!
Hopefully the coverage increases later!
That’s .20 more than I’ve had. I’ve pretty much given up on rain actually falling from the sky.
frustrating for sure, when some places near by are getting hammered with rain!
My sister lives two miles down the road from me and got over 1 inch of rain yesterday while my yard got .10 ??
I had high hopes for today but it’s not looking good. Oh well, not a thing I can do about it.
Picked up .24 here in Carrie barley wetted the dust.
The rain was a pretty big underachiever today. The Mesonet shows only 3 stations with more than half an inch of rain. A good chunk of Kentucky is now in the Abnormally Dry category in the latest US Drought Index. The 20 or so drops that fell at my house won’t change that. Here’s hoping tomorrow is a little more generous.
.86 fell at my house .04 showing at the mesonet site shows we cant get our info from 1 source its not accurate for all
I promise you the Southern half of Kentucky will see upper 80s lower 90s next week. Count on it no matter what the models say.
All week long.
Its been that nearly all month except for the days we had rain maybe
