Good Tuesday to one and all. We warned you the weather pattern would be taking on much more of a summer look and feel to it and the past few days have done just that. The next few will feature more of the same as the warm temps and high humidity levels hang around. These will combine to crank out a few afternoon showers and storms.
Temps today will be back into the 80s once again. I expect a little better coverage of storms out there this afternoon and early evening… but these will still be scattered at best. You can track whatever goes up right here…
Wednesday and Thursday will be more of the same with muggy weather and temps in the 80s for highs with the threat for scattered boomers.
A weak boundary will work in here by Friday and will lead to a higher chance for showers and storms. As a matter of fact… storms could become rather widespread with heavy rains becoming more of a possibility.

The good news is that the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend looks to be dry right now with highs in the low and mid 80s. 
The tropics are trying to come to life a little early this season as a system off the southeastern coast tries to become something of a tropical hybrid storm. The National Hurricane Center is watching this area. Here is the latest from them…
Another big tornado outbreak has been taking place over the past few days across parts of the high plains states. It is almost impossible now for a major tornado not to be caught on film and this outbreak is no different…
Yet another impressive tornado in what has been a very impressive month!

Thanks, Chris. I have to tell you, I don’t mind a little summer heat, with scattered afternoon and evening storms at this point. I am just happy to see that we have a few days without deluges!
That being said, I don’t want a drought, either. So, right now, I will take what we are getting. Just wish my doggone uniform pants were not so hot! Oh well, got shorts coming….:)

That tornado was only rated an EF-4 by the NWS in Aberdeen, SD. Maybe they should go back and reconsider…

Some amazing video as always Chris! This severe weather season might have started slow but it’s sure hitting on all cylinders now.
I hadn’t heard what happened to Lauren, but the new girl they hired seems to be doing a pretty good job.
I’m surprised Chris hasn’t commented on the whole fiasco with Dish Network, The Weather Channel, and the short lived “Weather Cast”. For anyone who didn’t hear about this situation, check this out.

Since the intial story was posted, TWC and Dish came to an agreement and this new Weather Cast got axed from Dish. Sucks for the company that developed that new network. It seems to me that there could be room for a new national weather network that focused solely on weather, instead of weathertainment.
She announced on the show one morning that she was leaving to work somewhere else. I forgot where she went.
It’s about time somebody called out The Weather Channel for abandoning the original mission of its founders by showing things like “Storm Stories” and even worse movies like “March of the Penguins”…with real dollars on the line.
I believe she moved to Memphis.

I have Directv and had not heard of this. I suspected someone on YOUTUBE would post something showing this “Weather Cast” and I was right! LOL
It sort of reminded me of old school weather channel with 2010 graphics. I can’t believe Dish wanted to do this on their own. It must have cost quite a bit of money only to be 86’d.
Mark, I keep reading about this whole situation from a bunch of guys in the weather business and a lot of them think this was just a ploy by Dish to make TWC not raise their rates.
It seems the company that was behind “The Weather Cast” is called Weather Nation. The company’s original purpose was to produce local forecasts and tv weather content for TV stations who didn’t want to produce their own. While I’m not a big fan of this idea, there is a market for it. They still are producing “Local Forecasts” for TV stations, but from what I can tell they’ve dropped “the Weather Cast” idea.
I still think this was a good idea though, and I believe that right now if someone with enough capital and resources came along they could put together an all weather, all the time channel and compete with TWC. It wouldn’t surprise me if someone like Accuweather tried this as they have most of the resources already needed to pull this off, or perhaps someone like Rupert Murdoch came in and started “Fox Weather”. There is a high demand for weather, and while they’re are tons of places to get weather information, the national TV picture only has one major source right now.
Too bad that Lauren Raymer is gone. She is GORGEOUS!
