Good evening everyone. As expected… severe thunderstorms have developed across the region with storms blowing up across much of central Kentucky. This has prompted numerous warnings for Tornadoes and Severe Thunderstorms. I suspect more will come over the next few hours.

Damaging winds and large hail are the main threats from these storms with an isolated tornado being possible… but not likely.
The Storm Prediction Center has been TERRIBLE today in regards to the severe weather around here. Honestly… they should be ashamed of their forecasts for this area today!!

Moved my cars in the garage in case we get hail from this in Lexington. I seem to be attracting the severe storms today.

Wind is picking up here in the last few seconds. Radar does seem to put the worst of it on the northern Anderson Co line. I’m north of that. Rain is heavy now.
We got 6/10″ out of that storm that just came through masterson station area.
Is this bad boy going to hold together and get us folks in Southeast KY??

1.75″ is “ping pong ball” size, right? Someone here reported that in northwest Anderson Co.
You must have got a bad one on your side of town. I live in SE Fayette and could see a lot of lightning your way. Looks like the main line will be here in a bit and cover the whole county.
Yes. I’m not easily impressed with storms but that impressed me! I didn’t hear any loud thunder or see much lightning, but the wind and rain was crazy!
Are some of these storms trying to go SE or it just me, I’m in Nicholasville, Jessamine County, looks like the storms NW of here are trying to come down this way
HUGE bolt of lightning here in SE Nicholasville about 7 or 8 min ago. Shook the whole house and lit up out of every window. Sure was close!!!

Sure was. I live over in West Place. If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear it hit really close to here! The dog started barking from being sound asleep…was kinda funny!
same here, and my cats hauled butt upstairs lol scared the kids. but havnt heard anything since
nothing here but rain now. A few flashes of lightning, but I haven’t heard any thunder since. That must have been a “rogue” lightning strike, LOL!
Had a wild evening here in Anderson County with tornado warnings and several funnel cloud sightings. Shot video of a possible wall cloud from my back deck. I’m not sure if it is, I’m new to this. It is posted on my blog (try to ignore the redneck woman talking, me)
Hope these hold together for Johnson County. I feel like I’m living in the Bermuda Triangle for storms most of the time.
