Good Saturday everyone and welcome to Mom’s big weekend. Our strong cold front moved through the state overnight with a broken line of thunderstorms. These storms did not have bring a whole lot with them in terms of anything severe and we will lodge no complaints with mother nature because of it.

Now comes a real deal shot of chill for the weekend. Daytime highs will struggle into the lower 60s today and for Mother’s Day Sunday. Skies today will feature a mix of sun and clouds… especially in the afternoon. There could be just enough juice to squeeze out a sprinkle or two… especially in the north.

Keep an eye on Sunday and Monday mornings as thermometers head down into the middle and upper 30s. This COULD lead to some patchy frost in a few of the traditional cold spots if skies are clear.

Much warmer air will surge back in here as we head toward Tuesday. This will force a warm front to lift to the northeast across the area and this front will bring showers and thunderstorms with it. Check the GFS out…

Monday Night

Tuesday Morning

As low pressure heads toward the Great Lakes Tuesday and Wednesday… it will drag a cold front toward the Ohio River. This front will become stationary and may become the focal point for rounds of heavy rain producing showers and thunderstorms.

Here is a snapshot from the GFS to illustrate what I am talking about…

Wednesday Morning

That is all I have for you guys now… have a great weekend and stay warm. Take care.
