Good Tuesday everyone. The region continues to get some MUCH needed dry weather and that trend should continue for most of this week as warm weather takes control. All of this happens before an abrupt change to cool takes place this weekend and it could be a rather noisy trantition with some thunderstorms.

The setup for the next few days should be one that features warm temps as readings should range from 80-85 for just about the entire week. There will be a weak front dropping toward us from the north Wednesday night and early Thursday… this could bring a stray shower or thunderstorm with it as it puts the brakes on just to our north.

The main action of the week will come our way by later Friday as low pressure rides from the plains into the Great Lakes. This low will drag a strong cold front in here. The threat for strong or severe storms will be with us Friday afternoon and night before we make the transition to a , for May standards, chilly airmass. Here is how it looks on the European Model…

That is a very sharp temp drop from Friday into Saturday as we go from the 80s to near 60 for highs. There is even a chance for some upper 30s for lows by Sunday morning.

You can see we still have quite a cold air pool sitting up there in Canada. That, to me, suggests this should be a rather active severe weather month for much of the country. As we have seen in recent days… that may very well include our part of the country.

Flood waters here in Kentucky are SLOWLY receding in many areas. River Flooding has been deemed as MAJOR for various rivers across the state. High water will continue to be a problem on the bigger rivers for the next several days.

We all know how devestating the floods have been around here. Believe it or not… the Nashville area has been hit even harder as some parts of that region picked up around 20″ of rain over the weekend. Take a look at some video from Nashville…

Just some amazing stuff to see there in Music City as it will take months for that city to get back on its feet!

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
