Good afternoon everyone. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH is now out for northeastern parts of the state until 8pm this evening. Here is a look at the counties included…
Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary concerns. Here is a map showing the latest warnings…
Here are your storm tracking radars…
The rest of the state will see showers and winds increasing from the west and northwest as temps start to tumble. Help us out by posting the weather where you are. Have a great afternoon and take care.
if the 12z gfs is right this could have been just the warm up band here in ky for what’s coming around derby day. bufkit/sounding at bwg was impressive for next weekend.
Thanks for all you do CB. One thing this consistent reader and fellow UK, Bengals and Reds fan would request on your blog is that you’d show the local radars when you post a possible precip post instead of the accuweather radar solo. Other than that, you rock CB!
I think the radars are just fine.
Just a suggestion. Not a criticism:)
Partly cloudy, windy, and warm here in Perry Co. as of 4:40 p.m. That pretty much sums up how it’s been all day.
Radar shows bands of rain showers approaching from the northwest, however.
Afternoon, all. we made it through last night with mostly a lot of leaves, and heavy rain. This morning, sunny adn fairly warm. Right now, cloudy, windy, and 70 at 5:30. Looking at the radar, looks like it is going to be raining here very soon.
Cloudy, windy, and 70 in Somerset at 5:35. Looks like rain on the way.
Ten-degree drop in temperature since 5PM when rain started in northern Estill County.
Ten-degree drop in temperature (now 60)since 5PM when rain started in northern Estill County.
Raining lightly but steadily for 3 hrs now. Temp is dropping; 57 here now
This weekend, while no fun for some, sure has helped out water-wise. Grass and trees are fully green again. Everything looks nice, smells good too! This rain got a lot of the pollen out of the air, good news for all the allergy suffers! Hope it warms up quickly! Thanks to all who kept everyone updated on the storms last night, especially CHRIS! YOU DA MAN!
I’d say areas that got 2″+ of rain yesterday have a good chance of seeing some swolen streams rising with this rain.. It may be light and moderate, but it looks like it will be around for a while.
Really, even just 1″+
If you want, look up the area radar on Intellicast and you can look at a regional loop.
