Good Thursday everyone. The weather today is on pace for yet another imitation of the middle of summer before some changes begin to move in for the weekend. We will likely go from summer to a taste of frost over the next several days.
Let’s get straight into breaking it all down…
– Sunshine and breezy weather today will boost temps well into the 80s.
– A strong cold front will work into the area from the northwest late Friday afternoon into the evening hours. Temps ahead of this front will head back toward the low 80s as winds become very gusty. A line of showers and thunderstorms will drop in along the front. You can see the very well here on the GFS…
Friday Evening
Friday Night
We will have to be watchful for some strong or severe storms that could produce some damaging winds. Just something to think about.
– Saturday may start out with some leftover showers across the south before those move out. Windy and MUCH cooler air will be with us. Highs may have a hard time hitting 60.
– FROST THREAT Sunday and Monday mornings! Readings both morning may head close to the freezing mark.
Have a great Thursday and take care.
We could really do w/o the damaging weather, but the rain would be nice! Really hope the storms make it here before nightfall; really dislike storms after dark.
Not a single comment.. Guess everyone’s enjoyin’ the summer weather.
Looking forward to the cool down this weekend and hopefully some rain.
There’s a comment out there now…
No snow in the forecast. 🙁
Not many comments, but I’m sure people are still peaking in. What time are we looking at those storms coming through tomorrow. I have a softball game and need to decide if I should think about cancelling or not.
We have T Ball practice at 7:30, will get wet in Estill County?
The models (GFS in particular) NAILED the forecast once again. For the past several days, the models hinted at isolated showers/storms popping up today. And check it out…cumulus field blowing up as we speak! Sometimes I wonder why the NWS folks ignore the obvious.
I still read faithfully, even during these boring, but beautiful, weather days. We plan our garden plantings by what Mr. Bailey says!
