Good Tuesday everyone and welcome to yet another day that will be more fitting for the middle of July instead of the first week of April. The very warm air of today was ushered into town by some booming thunderstorms late Monday. These storms looked nasty on radar but did little in the way of actual severe weather.

The majority of storm reports were from large hail that was quarter sized or greater in some cases. Here is a neat pic I received from the Ashland area…

As we mentioned… the heat is back today as readings soar well into the 80s once again. Some areas across the east will have a shot at their second 90 degree temperature of the month already. That is pretty wild stuff!

Skies today will be mostly sunny with a stiff breeze at times.

Our next weather maker will approach the area from the west in the form of a strong cold front that works in Wednesday night and Thursday. This will likely bring an extensive line of showers and storms in here from the west with strong or severe storms being possible.

NAM Thursday Morning

Thursday Evening

Temps will drop like a rock on Thursday as winds crank up along and behind the actual front. Readings will drop into the low 50s by the end of the day and should struggle to get to the low 50s for highs Friday… even as the sun returns later in the day.

The chilly shot may lead to a frosty start to our Saturday before another big warm up kicks in. Temps by later Saturday warm toward 70 then may push 80 again by Sunday and Monday. This could be the start of another very nice and warm stretch of weather around here.

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
