Good Wednesday everyone. We are set to wrap up the month of March and it is going out like a lamb. That has pretty much been the case for the entire month as the lamb has owned the Lion for what has been a pretty decent weather month. This nice weather will carry us into the first several days of April as we get a little taste of of some summer warmth later this week.
Your weather headlines are fairly short and to the point and go a little something like this…
– Highs today will warm toward 70 under sunny skies.
– Thursday and Friday will find even warmer air moving in here. Thermometers warm to the upper 70s to around 80 for Thursday and top out in the 80-85 degree range on Friday! Now that is some wow warmth for so early in the year. Sunny skies will continue.
– Saturday looks to be another warm day with readings around 80 yet again. Clouds will be on the increase during the day and winds will crank ahead of a weak cold front that moves in by evening. A dying line of showers and thunderstorms will work from west to east late Saturday into Saturday night. You can see that here on the GFS…
Saturday Afternoon
– The rains will quickly diminish by Easter Sunday as skies become partly sunny. Highs will be cooler than the previous days… but should still be on the mild side in the low 70s.
– Warmer air moves back in early next week before our pattern tries to go stormy for the middle and end of the week.
– Looking farther down the road toward the rest of spring and into summer… I am watching the possibility the waters in the equatorial Pacific Ocean cool significantly. The forecast models are suggesting we may go from an El Nino to a La Nina in just a matter of a few months. If that is the case… the prospects for a hot summer will be much higher. Stay tuned.
Have a great day and take care.
Thanks Chris! I hope the rain holds off until all the Easter egg hunts are over. I know a lot of churches and others have fun plans for all the kiddies!
Thanks for a great season Hoops!!
Call me crazy, but I’m looking forward to a hot summer. Just please, not dry as well. The first of the year has started off dreadfully dry around here already.
A lot of TV mets up here in Cincy want to bring in rain during the day on Saturday…which doesn’t vibe with what Chris has posted. But I like what I’m hearing from Chris and seeing on the GFS. 🙂
+1 for a stormy pattern next week. And I maintain we could use some rain around here…
this is sad for me all the winter storm watches in the west and we are getting 80s with sunshine, winter just isnt long enough 🙁
I hope the rain holds off for one more week. We camp every year for spring break…and it never fails…the week before is beautiful and the week we are camping it either snows, we have tornados, or a flood. Just one year I would like to have sunny and 75 for the entire week. Of course…what does Chris say about the middle and end of next week…wet and stormy…UUUGGGHHHH!!!
2007 and 2008 were pretty hot summers. I went to a game in Cincinnati in august 2007 and I felt all 106 degrees that day.
So nice out, and so easy of a forecast… just what the doctor ordered!
Hey CHRIS
I know you don’t answer a lot of question asked in the comments section, but what are your thoughts on the spring/summer coming up in terms of rain/storms..?? You think it will be hot/dry….hot/wet….? The only outlooks I see say equal chances.
Twas an evening for charcoal & steaks. Awesome awesome day.
I am not Chris, but bccuweather has a story up saying that “tornado alley” will shift east this year. They actually have us in the high risk for tornados this year. Now take this for what its worth because it is accuweather.
The data I’ve seen indicates that “tornado alley” is entirely shifting eastward with time. I’m curious to see what April and May will hold in terms of severe weather around here.
Here is a vid of a guy explaining the alley shifting east.
