Good Friday everyone. The weather today is a little messed up as we start things out with a touch of winter before ending it with sunshine and slightly milder afternoon temps. Could this morning’s flakes be the last brush with winter? Hmmm… I guess we will find out very soon.

Low pressure is working off to our east to start today with much colder air wrapping in behind the departing system. The cold air will catch the back edge of the rain shield changing it to snow for a time before it quickly comes to an end from west to east. The snow should not be a big deal because it will fall for only a little while and onto a warm ground. You can track it in and out of here with the regional radar…

Once the rains and snows move out this morning… the sun will come out boosting temps to near 50 for afternoon highs.

That will carry us into the weekend which looks half good and half bad. Saturday will feature a Big Blue sky and temps that start cold and end mild with low 60s. Sunday features yet another low pressure rolling in here with rains breaking out early in the day with chilly air moving in in similar fashion to what we just saw. Here is how it looks on the GFS…

Sunday Afternoon

Sunday Night

This setup really looks a whole lot like the current one and could also produce a morning flake Monday before clearing things out. Next week will start chilly but the tide is turning as REAL spring is about to… spring!

A nice warming trend will kick in Tuesday and by the end of the week… temps well into the 70s will be the norm! As a matter of fact… we have a shot at 80!

Since it is Friday… let’s have some good music that will get you pumped for the Cats…

Have a great Friday and Go Big Blue! Take care.
