Good Tuesday to one and all and thanks for blogging. I have decided to add a little bling to the blog by using the graphic above… please don’t judge me. The weather across the area today will feature the warmest day of the year as temps make a run toward 70 in many areas. With the good comes the bad as some spring like showers and even some thunderstorms increases as the week goes by.
First things are first and that is the warmest air of the season today which will unleash a nasty case of spring fever. Sunshine will be noted for most of the day before some clouds increase from west to east during the afternoon. Western Kentucky will see some on and off showers leading to cooler temps today. You can track the 70 degree potential here…

Today’s Highs
You can get a good look at the showers moving our way with the regional radar…
The low across the plains states is a good looking one and one that will hang tough to our west for the rest of the week. It will send a few showers in here Tuesday night and Wednesday with a good slug of moisture coming in here for Thursday. Some rumbles of thunder will be possible by that time. Temps will remain VERY mild with 60s for highs through Friday. Much colder air will work in by the weekend as a second low develops to our east and rides northward up the eastern slopes of the Appalachian Mountains. This will throw more moisture back in here for Saturday and Sunday and it may be just cold enough for some wet snows to develop late this weekend… especially in the mountains.
Here is what the European Model is showing…
Chilly weather with some rain and snow showers look to hang tough into the early part of next week as our overall pattern takes on a much more wintry look. This may carry us into the middle and end of March.
Enjoy today’s awesome weather and take care.

Thanks Chris but BOooooooooooooooo on the cold and snow showers!!!
Just a little blog suggestion…..maybe put the bad news at the top so that we leave feeling all shiny & happy after reading about the good weather! 😉
LOL…I agree, I was just gonna say well you started the blog off with a bang but ended with the nasty’s…lol…Don’t tell Rolo, but I’m rooting for spring fever instead of the nasty weather…shhhh, now don’t tell him…LOL…LOL….:)
Soccer Season is in full swing, no cold…i just wont have it…
Thanks, Chris. YEsterday could not have been a better day here for the first part of March! We topped out at 68 degrees here with beautiful sunshine!
Noticed this morning that skies were still clear, so our temps were in the mid 30s, but the sun is out, so I expect it to warm up quickly. Loving the pretty weather!
heck I got no problem with this weather, i mean none at all.
I just saying if IT does snow again u snow luvers cant be down about it if ur a TRUE SNOW LOVER.
heck this weather is HUGE!! because its drying things out and thats great. I was afraid of a bad flood by now. so weeeeeeeeeeeeee that great.
Its nice to be able to walk across the yard and not sink in..! Heck a few more days like this and the grass will be growing.
I’m not buying the winter potential at this point. I call BS on it.
For real. Coming from the news business you’d think CB would know this. 🙂 They always taught us to run the sad and depressing stories at the top of the show, and then progress to more positive stuff later on. That’s why sports is the last segment. 🙂 Come on man! Haha.
Thanks Chris! And I love the blingy! That’s me right now! I am looking forward to spring and no more snow!
70 would make this the warmest day since November 8. I think LEX official station came up a degree or two short, although the mesonet stations around here did see 70.
well at my house it is 74 and sunny. But i’m in eastern ky.
Well, you know what they say about March…if it comes in like a lamb (which it did), it goes out like a lion.
i AM IN EASTERN KY TWO FLOYD CO TO BE EXACT AND OUR TEMPS SOARED INT THE 70’S AS WELL. THE THERMOMETER ON MY FRONT PORCH READ 75 & THE ONE IN THE CAR READ 76, WHICH MADE FOR AN AWESOME DAY! WE HAD BETTER ENJOY THIS WHILE WE CAN, CAUSE ACCORDING TO CB WE MAY NOT SEE THEM AGAIN FOR AWHILE. TAKE CARE EVERYBODY AND ENJOY THESE WARM TEMPS
mesonet station in Lexington showed 68 and the NWS showed 69.
Following my own investigation, millions of people on our planet get the loan from good banks. Hence, there’s a good chance to get a car loan in every country.
