Good evening, all. The bandwagon for next week’s arctic blast is full as everyone now seems to be on board. Much of the country will go into a November version of the deep freeze and that’s something that may last a while.
The models continue to show our arctic front crossing the state late Tuesday with the cold surging in behind it…
Folks, that really is a massive area of arctic high pressure pushing into the country. Highs in the 30s and lows from the upper teens to low 20s may be common around here for the second half of next week into the following weekend.
I’ve been hinting at the potential for a couple of winter systems to try to sneak in under that arctic air at some point. The European Model shows the first attempt to start next weekend…
The new GFS has something similar…
The European has s another system developing by day 10…
Just like last year… Old Man Winter isn’t playing around.
I will have your full update later tonight. Enjoy the rest of the evening and take care.
Brrrrrr!!!! Thanks Chris.
Think Nov. of 1976 started out cold also..
Rady for winter, BBN and a Steelers Super Bowl run!!!
Go Steelers
In 1976 we had a decent snow either right before or just after Thanksgiving and missed several days of school. That winter snow fell often and didn’t melt for what seemed like forever. I can remember watching the snow pour down and it was only 11 degrees. It didn’t get too cold for it to snow that winter!
This storm coming in is supposed to hit Alaska Bad. Anchorage is supposed to get 90 MPH winds. They also say Waves in the Ocean got get as high as 50′ . They say its going to be Historic.
