Good Sunday everyone and welcome to the warmest day of the entire month of February. This has been a much colder than normal temp month across the region so the weather of the past few days has been fairly mild. Today will be the mildest of the bunch as temps warm toward the low 50s. That’s not good news for the remaining snow out there and some snowmen are now on a crash diet…

It is amazing that a lot of our region has had some snow on the ground for more than 2 straight weeks now. That is highly impressive for the middle and end of February.

Where do we go from here? The breakdown goes like this…

1. Today will feature a mix of sun and clouds and temps topping out in the lower 50s. This will make for a very nice end to a pretty good weather weekend.

2. Low pressure will roll our way for Monday and bring numerous showers to the area. Winds will be gusty as well with temps in the upper 40s to low 50s.

3. Much colder air moves in here Monday night and Tuesday with some snow showers taking over.

4. The best chance to put snow on the ground next week will come Wednesday and Thursday when a system dives in from the northwest. Some very cold air for the end of February will move in during this time as well with daytime highs struggling to get out of the 20s.

5. The first week of March continues to look ripe for a big storm across the eastern half of the country. Just ask the GFS what it thinks…

March 2nd

That’s all I have for you guys today. I will update as needed so check back. Have a great Sunday and take care.
