Good afternoon. The Weather Prediction Center (similar to the Storm Prediction Center for severe weather) has upgraded to a high risk of 4″+ snows for parts of the region. Here’s a look…
They also expanded that slight risk area a little farther south and east compared to their earlier outlook.
The Winter Storm ALERT continues with the no changes in the placement and overall idea.
Watch the precipitation shield explode and fill in the gaps in the coming hours…
Current temperatures
Take care.
so do we expect to see snow in the Lexington area ,
I wish
Is it possible the temperature will drop faster than expected? It was 41 here in Bardstown 2 hours ago and now it’s 38. A quicker drop to 32 degrees would mean lots more snow.
Wish on, Sweetie…lol! 😉 Just got back from Walmart and they still had plenty of bread & milk, bologna was kinda scarce, tho…but then again, we have to think back to ’94 when they were only calling for “less than an inch” and we got 16″….I remember waking up @ 3am and it was spitty rain, then when I got up for work @ 5:30 and let the Dobermans out, they both flew off the porch and I had to go out in my jammies and help them-they were about like me…WTH??!!!
Hey Debbie. I remember you from last winter. I lived in the ville and worked in bardstown. Now I’m living in Bardstown. It seems I should’ve stayed in Louisville if I wanted lots of snow.
love the trend.
Everything proceeding according to plan for Monticello area…rain, followed by rain, followed by flurries. NWS says 58 here by next Sunday! For those who get the white stuff…enjoy.
High risk for folks in Cincinnati, Covington…they get all the fun
37.9° in NE Louisville with rain…
It’s a misty, mess up your windshield, crappy kind of rain. I would rather have a downpour than this nuisance rain.
LOL. The tiniest part of KY is high risk. It is what it is so will treat these rinse and repeaters as a win. Point being, better than getting ice 🙂
I can attest, it is a cold rain, brrrrr.
Changeover can’t happen soon enough. Just nasty out y’all.
the radar is filling up nicely with …..rain
Si de note: who dey..not who Dat
Radar returns are not that impressive, I would guess those wsw will become wwa in 5 hours or so.
10 minutes apart and 2 totally different opinions, no wonder Chris Bailey never wins!
Wondering if eastern Kentucky will get more snow than expected. Highs here were supposed to be near 45 today with rain. Temperature has held in the 30s all day and is currently 37 degrees. Here’s to hoping temps drop and we see a change over!
@NikkiEKY Wondering the same thing about the temps… it’s 37 degrees in my corner of Harlan County as I type. We never even hit 40 degrees. Would love to see some snow action!
I know the heavier band of snow is supposed to hit the Ohio River counties of the NW parts of the state but maybe EKY can get in on some wrap around or up slope action tomorrow. Those can often be overachievers for the mountains!
