Good Thursday everyone and welcome to the start of a snowy few days across the state. Snow will be breaking out from west to east this morning as a fast moving arctic low pressure moves through the Ohio Valley. Snows will be light to moderate with this system then we rely on the northwesterly winds to kick in for later tonight through Friday night. Both will combine to put down a decent snowfall across the entire region.

You can track the snows here…

This first batch of snow today is only likely to drop an inch or two with three at the max. The snows will lighten up a bit later in the evening before the snow showers and squalls kick on from the northwest. These will carry us through early Saturday in many areas and will have more of a fluff factor on top of whatever falls today.

Did you guys notice I have not taken the blog into Threat or Alert mode at all? Just throwing that out there. hahaha

How much will it all add up to by Saturday Morning? Here ya go…

Add in gusty winds and you will get blowing and some drifting of the snow later tonight into Friday. Arctic air will surge in behind this system with wind chills by Friday morning around 0 or below. Lows this weekend will slip into the single digits with an outside shot at sub zero air.

Help out your fellow bloggers by posting the weather where you live. I will have more updates through the day so keep checking back. Take care.
