Good afternoon, gang. Our wintry mix continues to overspread the bluegrass state and this is a sign of things to come. I really don’t have many changes to the thoughts I’ve had out for a couple of days now. The midday model runs continue to be a little more enthusiastic about accumulating snows.
Hi Res NAM
NAM
Canadian
Notice how they are all very similar in showing the swath of snow I’ve been yapping about. Can we get a few spots to overachieve later today and tonight? That’s possible and something we will focus on as the day wears on.
I will update things on WKYT-TV starting at 4. For now, here are your tracking toys…

Take care.
A lot of snow on the radar but nothing falling.
Any snow sticking near Bowling Green or LBL?
LBL….. Low Beer Liver?? 🙂
No, there is nothing falling or sticking whatsoever in West KY. A lot on radar, but not 1 spec of anything has fallen…
Light snow in G’town. Hoping for more after the kids get home!
At least I saw 10 minutes of the white stuff…now getting some soupy. I like soup! soup soup soup, down in my belly.
Soup will do you good! 🙂 Chicken tortilla for the win!
Temps seem too warm for any accumulation unless some of this stuff is falling later tonight.
42 degrees in Middlesboro with an already very warm ground almost guarantees no accumulation here but I have been wrong before. Looking forward to seeing how quickly next weeks monster storm falls apart. Lol
Already showing signs..
Man it is gonna get cold though..PV heading south…Hopefully models are wrong on the cold..Somebody told me once the Cold and moisture did meet up once over Ky a long time ago..
Snowing but not sticking in Hopkinsville. Granddaughter outside trying to catch snowflakes!
I’m disappointed in the snowfall to say the least…hoping we get at least one snow that is noteworthy. Not holding my breath.
Flurries falling in Brooks, about 15 minutes south of Louisville.
Snowing in Bardstown. Not sticking yet.
May want to add a camera from the Louisville area. Just a hunch.
Snowing here in Versailles!
Bell county will get zip but that’s the norm here every winter.
whatever sticks (if anything) will be gone by 10am, sunny and 45 for SE KY makes it rough for snow to stay around long. ✌
Nothing in Burgin :((
Radar looks impressive, but nothing hitting the ground in Harrison.
Snowing in greenup
A few snow flakes in Shepherdsville, but you have to watch closely to see them.
Ice Pellets in Frankfort starting to fall.
Now living in Philadelphia. We have had a grand total of 1.6 inches this year. Average is around 23 a year. Last year they had 60+ inches. This year isn’t one of those years. Hoping to get some snow out of this one.
Huge snowflakes coming down in Paducah, West KY
Can’t believe I’m typing this but…just made a round trip to Fayette-Scott border and all the way back down to Berea.
It really isn’t doing much of anything except, well, here in Berea.
It’s starting to try and stick, basically people’s doormats are coated and a little bit on leaves, but that’s about it for now.
Still coming down decently atm.
Roads are really wet and unsalted on 75 and everywhere in town that I could see.
It goes against every trend and all conventional wisdom, but it seems like we might end up getting more than places north of here.
Still not convinced that’s going to happen, but if it does, I’m sure Aaron Harrison is to thank.
Have a lot to do, so in the event we do end up getting more than areas north of us (including, God forbid, the WKYT parking lot), let me say this in the nicest way possible…
“Ya’ll obviously need sum moah Jesus up dare” 🙂
Been Grauping and flurring in Flemingsburg going on two hours now….nothing on the ground
Nothing but cold rain here in knott co
Dry air is fighting the snow, we need atmosphere to get moist soon!
Where is this dry air you speak of? Precipitation just about all day in Madison County.
Frankfort
Madison Co appears to be right on the snow/rain line…must have something to do with it.
Still snowing in Berea but much smaller flakes then a hour ago
Praying for an old school snow this year at some point but nor holding my breath. Just wanting my kids to know what snow is since they only hear stories of it. They are starting to think we make up stories about snow
Snowing harder now in greenup
For perspective, there are no advisories, so should give you an idea this probably will be more likely the low side on CB’s map.
CB has no even uttered the words so far.
Nope… this may exceed my numbers.
I agree with Chris! Folks once the sun sets and that band out west starts pivoting, look out!
oh…ballerina snow…with some festive flakes (human and weather-wise)…Pivot, jette an flounce around in glorious whiteness…CURTAIN UP~~
Rodger has a Virga Storm Warning at his house! We call is a VSW for short – kinda adds to all the fun! Rodger in Dodger!
A nice and lazy day. Love it! 😉
Down to 32 here with a heavy rain. It snowed at 34 and 35 today but at 32 a hard rain, go figure
Weather channel has northeast ky under 1-3 inches…we will see
Been snowing in Lexington for a couple hours. It’s wonderful. Nothing sticking though.
Barely spitting snow in Frankfort. Looks like the dry air is domonating the northern part of the storm. Judging by Kymesonet, it doesn’t look like much is making it to the ground in wKY either.
Nice snow shower now in Frankfort.
40 and cold rain in knott co. Same ole song
No school tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
white rain keeps falling down.
Louisville at 38
I guess Louisville has geographically move to Madison County.
Depends where your at in Louisville sw Jefferson county has snow where other parts of the county is sleet and rain.
Heavy, wet burst of snow just east of Louisville right now.
Large 1″+ flakes in hardin Co since 4pm. already a dusting with mod/hvy snow falling, side roads already covered
Snowing like crazy in Madisonville! Ground is white!
Nice cold rain in richmond. ..will it change over..or is the fence going to rule
I think 33/32 wins (of course). Most will fall as rain and a coating after that. Counting the .3″ we got so far since November, we might get to where we can round to 1″ ! 😉 🙂
Big heavy cold rain falling. Meh.
Overachiever in Bardstown…. 🙂 6 minutes from nothing to snow covered ground/vehicles/street edges….
All we got is a rock. Cold rain is the rock.
Rain in Adair as usual!
, just curious to see does Chris have a new snowfall map on WKYTthat anybody can share
My prediction of <10" of snow for the season for Jackson and London looks better than ever.
Another miserable and gloomy day. Gotta love climate change
I’m going to one up….I’ll say <3" or less from London- Middlesboro for the season!
Snowing in Charlestown Indiana. 10 miles north east of Louisville
Startin to snow in Clarksville, In. Might overperform here.
Any snow in BG yet?
3 inches and counting west of Cecilia KY (yes I moved) Definitely an overachiever in my part of town. Still coming down hard…huge wet fluffy flakes.
A bit more than the dusting the locals were talking about 🙂
Nah I just measured. Little over 2 actually.
Be lucky to get a coating in seky from looks of it.
Nice snow fall in East Louisville. Now covering side streets.
Snow coming down at a very solid rate near The Highlands in Louisville! Everything’s covered except the pavement.
Having had no snow since November… there are no words to describe how happy this makes me.
Heavy cold rain in Huntington WV, as usual.
I’m not one to usually complain about the roads.that being said, the roads are HORRIBLE on I-64 between Louisville and Shelbyville. Not a single salt truck out.
I fishtailed 3 times.
Advisories should be out for Jeff, bullit, and Shelby counties
From 4 – 5 I was travelling from Frankfort toe Richmond — right behind a “salt truck”. Must have gotten bad after that…
Just made a Chipotle run in Lexington. Roads getting snow covered and slick. Snow looked to be moderate to heavy for awhile. Sure is beautiful.
Be safe all!
About one inch of wet snow in frankfort, still snowing at a good pace!!
Over achiever in some spots tonight?
An overachiever here in shelbyville. Still coming down at a good clip.
So far – rain in my part of Richmond. Snow when I left Frankfort and north and west Lexington between 4 and 5 when I drove through…
Looks like rain in Richmond, transitioning into to rain with a bit of wrap around rain on the backside.
We’ll see…
Trend has been broken in the Masterson Station area of Lexington! Woooohoooo!
Roads are bad in nelson county. Wreck has traffic stopped on Louisville Road. Not a single plow or salt truck out.
