Good Tuesday evening gang. I promised you guys an update and dangitt I am here to deliver!   Our November forecast was for a back and forth weather pattern to take over for much of the month as we oscillate between some mild day and chilly ones. That forecast looks to be in good shape right now as the weather pattern for the next week shows this setup quite nicely.

Let me touch on the rains across southeastern Kentucky really quickly before we get into the back and forth pattern. The rains have been hugging the far southeastern parts of our region and a few of this may try to hang tough into early Wednesday as this BIG storm cranks up across the Mid Atlantic states the next few days. Watch how awesome this storm will look as it will beat the heck out of the Carolinas the rest of this week. It is am impressive setup, to say the least.

We have a couple of seasonably chilly days ahead of us with the low to our southeast and a blocking high to our northeast. This will funnel in some very windy conditions and bring our temps down. Highs in the 50s will be with us through Thursday. Friday will see slightly milder air moving in with a shot at 60. Though, Friday’s weather will still be dictated on what goes on off the southeast coast.

The weekend looks milder, but the models are coming in a little cooler with each run and that will be something to watch for.

Overall… the weather pattern across North America is going toward a blocky look. The models last week were suggesting a big cut off low forming across our region next week. They lost this for the past several days, but the new European Model is bringing it back. Check this out…

That would be very close to producing some flakes around here early next week… IF it were to verify! The GFS had been showing a more simple frontal passage but the latest run is going more toward what the above maps are showing.

Next week looks unsettled with below normal temps.

Oh yea… the GFS says Happy Thanksgiving…

Have a great evening and take care.
