Good Saturday afternoon, gang. The heavy rain threat for next week continues to get my attention. We have a couple of potential big rainmakers rolling our way. The first arrives late Monday and lasts through early Wednesday.
The GFS is increasing rain totals with that…
That would be enough to cause some additional high water issues.
The models are suggesting another moisture rich system moves in from the south later in the week and carries us into next weekend. Watch how the total rain numbers on the GFS increase dramatically during this time…
If we expand that out through another week, the numbers keep going up…
I simply do not like the looks of this setup over the next few weeks. Our increased risk of flooding is something you should really be aware of in the coming days.
With the increase in heavy rain will come an increase in temperatures. That is probably more of a short term issue as I fully expect colder than normal temps to return into the second half of the month…
I highly doubt we’ve seen the last of the snow before true spring arrives. You have been warned. 😉
Enjoy the rest of your day and take care.
Wow Chris, take some time off dude!
CB – Were you living in Lexington during the ’98 storm? I think I remember seeing you on WKYT in 2000 (ish)…….I think that’s the first time I remember seeing you.
Thanks for the heads up warnings…as always.
Enough with the precipitation 🙂
Amazing how this March sun just chews through this snow, from 8 inches to just some spots in the shade
Yeah, had 4-5 in. on the ground this morning here in Perry co. Just a few shady spots left with snow now.
While we may not have seen the last of the snow and anything can indeed happen, I fully believe that whatever comes will be gone in short order. This big snow is already fading fast due to the higher sun angles alone.
NOT SEEN THE LAST OF SNOW! …. Show some mercy, PLEASE!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Temps have really shot past projected highs, mid 50’s when we was supposed to be low 40’s. But I like it
Thanks for the update and all you do. Sounds like I will be up watching water quite a bit in the next few days…
I have a cousin that lives in West Virginia I mentioned CB the other day in a postage said he was forecasting there before he came to Lexington.
If I’m not mistaken, I think CB was here first, then went to West Virginia, and then came “back home” to us.
