Good Sunday and Happy Easter. We have fantastic weather out there for all the egg hunts across the bluegrass state. Unfortunately, this weather isn’t going to stick around for much longer. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms return for the week ahead.
Highs today will hit the 60s under sunny skies… enjoy!
Scattered storms return to the region from southwest to northeast on Monday. That’s on the nose of much warmer air pushing in. Readings for the week ahead may flirt with the 80 degree mark on more than occasion. All of that comes with a stormy price as the setup is there for rounds of boomers that could bring severe weather and heavy rains back into our region.
The setup shows a potent upper level low slowly swinging across the plains states with a nice flow from the Gulf of Mexico ahead of it…
That’s very similar to the forecast map I posted on here several days ago for the same period. It’s been a consistent signal coming from the models for the week ahead of us. In addition to the potential for strong or severe storms, heavy rain is a solid bet.
The numbers from the computer models are worrisome…
Again, models don’t handle thunderstorms too well, so you can get the numbers to skew too low.
Given the tremendous amount of rain we’ve had over the past few weeks, additional flooding could become a problem.
This is a pattern I don’t see totally breaking down as we roll through the rest of spring. It’s going to be a very active period through May, at least.
Enjoy your day and take care.
With the last rains we had, my car actually LEAKED!!! That’s never happened in the 4 years I’ve had it.
more rain is so not good. parts of my backyard are under 10 feet of water. I am glad we had not planted more than lettuce in our giant garden. we are going to have to move it this year.

This isn’t labeled, so I’m guessing this is for maybe M-F of the upcoming week? Bad news, definitely. Good news on the wildfire front though. If there was any way to send this to California, I’d do it. Of course, Nestle would just take it and sell it anyway despite any restrictions.
Since the NCAA were nice enough to not play the game on broadcast television (streaming stinks on Windstream), I made alternate viewing plans. The episode of Top Gear where they search for the source of the Nile is really entertaining if you haven’t seen it.
I thought last night would have been closer to last year’s game, but as I said, they were done after they cut the nets in Cleveland and certainly done after the Coach of the Year award announcement.
Life is funny that way. Besides, they know they would have beaten UConn for the title last year and had the revenge angle. Now it’s their turn not to choke.
On the upside, better to lose your dream to Wisconsin then lose your title to Duke. That possible game would have replaced the 1992 event in sheer fan misery and that’s the last thing anyone wants.
I hope the people who spent the money to go will stay and cheer against Duke. Otherwise, it will be a total loss for the trip.
I thought last nights game was one the worse played of the year for the cats. Bad timing for that to happen
Hope you are having and have had a happy Easter Chris. Heard some amazing stories from the last rain that just went through from Morehead. With everything a lot more saturated this time around I hope the rain numbers come in a little lower than they look like they may. Rain split my area with the northern parts of the county taking a hit and counties just south as well. We had flooding but not like those other areas did.
