Good Saturday, everyone. It really doesn’t matter what kind of temperature pattern we have across Kentucky… it’s going to produce storms. The storms last night flexed some muscle and caused wind damage and put down enough rain to cause local high water issues.
I will have a full update coming later today, so let’s start things out with some headlines…
– Steamy temps will be around today and Sunday. Highs hit 90-95 in the west and near 90 in the east. Heat index values will be well above 100 in the west and near 100 elsewhere.
– Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop and some could be strong with very heavy rain.
– Take the above line and copy and paste it for your Sunday forecast.
– A cold front moves in and slows down on Monday. Booming showers and thunderstorms will be possible along this front. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall will be possible.
– Waves of low pressure look to develop and slide eastward across the region for the rest of next week. I don’t like the looks of how this is trying to set up. Additional rounds of flash flooding will be possible during this time.

Torrential rain, intense lightning in Perry co.
An Intense storm is moving into Harlan Co. I am not seeing as strong of wind as last week’s storms, but the lightning, intensity of rain fall, and duration is worse!!!
Frankfort now has 2nd wettest July ever. Lexington and Louisville both crack the top ten. Amazing gusts at the Louisville International airport. Saw a wall of dust approaching me, knew it wasn’t rain, had to be wind. Showed up nicely on radar loop, the gust front.
Look at comment below. It is for you.
Hope you’re enjoying the summer.
You know Mike, we get more rain on the east end, too. Lol
Up to 10.75″ @ my house this month.
I have to agree. 6.88″ this month at my house in Valley Station. St Matthews MSD rain gauge has nearly 10″ more than my total.
Oops…that is since June 1…St Matthews has had 10.76″ this month.
sounds right…
Thanks for the reports. Keep them coming!
Here in St Mathews last night’s storm was far more violent than anything last week. My neighborhood is littered with limbs and debris.
I’ve had enough rain.
Yea, here in my part of Lexington the lightning and the duration of the heavy rain was worse than anything I saw last week as well.
