Good Saturday, folks. A potent little cold front is crossing Kentucky today and bringing some decent change to our overall weather pattern. This front will spark a scattering of showers and thunderstorms and bring much cooler air for Sunday. Will some leftover rains hang tough into our Sunday? Hmmm
The front slides from northwest to southeast this afternoon and evening. Temps spike into the 80s on a gusty southwesterly wind ahead of the front. A line of showers and thunderstorms will develop along and just ahead of the front. This sweeps through any one location fairly quickly as winds gust up and temperatures decrease.
Readings behind this line of showers drop through the 70s and into the low and mid 60s by late this evening.
Some of the recent forecast models try to keep some low level moisture around into Sunday across parts of central and eastern Kentucky. The NAM is indicating enough juice remains for a lot of clouds and some rain…
If that’s the case, anyone keeping clouds and a few showers would see highs in the low and middle 60s. Those with sun will climb into the 70-75 degree range. Either way, it looks like a windy day!
Chilly mornings will then likely be with us into early next week as lows drop back into the 40s…
An upper level low will develop across the southeast next week and could bring us a shower or storm at some point. The chances aren’t the greatest in the world, but it bears watching. Temps look to be around normal. I will dive into that and take a deeper look into the fall with my next update.
For now, let’s do some Saturday shower and storm spying…
Enjoy your Saturday and take care.

Game rain?
@ 1.26inches for the month of September through the 19th at my house, I am thinking this will be another drier than normal month across some areas of the state unless some decent rain hits during the last 11 days of the month which is not very favorable with the current forecast. I hope this dry weather will lead to a more vibrant leaf change than last year when it was too wet!
I think this winter will be like the last few weeks – dry and warm.
Temps have actually averaged below normal over the past few weeks. 😉
