Good Wednesday, folks. Let me start out by saying a HUGE thank you to all those who have served, and are currently serving our country. Our Veterans Day finds a cold front working toward the bluegrass state. That system arrives later tonight with gusty winds and a line of showers and thunderstorms.

Before the front arrives, we actually have some pretty nice weather. Temps this morning will be in the frosty 30s, but should warm nicely into the low 60s by the afternoon. Some higher numbers will be likely in the west and south.

A line of showers and storms pushes into western Kentucky late this afternoon into the evening. That’s the area to keep the closest eye on for possible strong and severe storms. That line then pushes across the rest of the state into the wee hours of Thursday.

Gusty winds will be the main issue Wednesday night and Thursday. Wind gusts will hit the 30-40mph range. Your tracking tools in a bit.

Chilly air comes in for Thursday with another front bringing colder air in for Friday and Saturday. Highs may not get out of the 40s with mid and upper 20s for lows. As a matter of fact, a bit of a breeze may give us our first wind chill temps of the season. ๐Ÿ™‚

The pattern looks super busy next week with a slow-moving storm impacting our region from Monday through Thursday. The models continue to take turns on who gets to show the deepest system following that one up. Similar to a recent run of the GFS I posted in the last update, the European Model as a rather wintry looking trough digging in…

EuroRemember kiddos… that’s a 500mb trough we are looking at. That is not the 540 thickness line you’re seeing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Let’s get back to tracking today’s action in from the west. Don’t forget to use the interactive radar to zoom in on the storms to our west. Live storm chaser cams will be up and running…
