Good evening, gang. Records are made to be broken and most of the official reporting sites saw today’s temps smack around some long standing marks. Sunday looks to be another record setter before changes blow into town.
High winds will be likely late Sunday into Monday as a line of showers and storms rolls eastward. Wind gusts of 40mph-50mph will be possible during this time.
Temps behind this system will come down from the record setting numbers of the weekend, but will still be above normal. That changes in a hurry with a wintertime cold front marching our way by Wednesday into Thursday. The cold really settles in behind this…
The arrival of the front is slowing down just a little on the models as a wave of low pressure develops along it. That should scoot by just to our east. A second system then dives in from the northwest Friday night into Saturday…
That setup could deliver a burst of snow showers to our region. Northwesterly winds behind this could also aid in snow showers and flurries through Saturday. Highs may not get above freezing with lows hitting the teens on a morning or two.
A couple of storm systems will then likely impact our Christmas week weather. Up and down temps look like a good bet as winter isn’t quite ready to lock in for good. Maybe we can get one of the “downs” for Christmas?
Enjoy the rest of the evening and take care.
Depending on how cool we get before midnight in Louisville, which probably won’t be much of a drop in temperature, our high and low temperature, when averaged out, will be nearly 30 degrees above average for this date! This is on top of the 23 degrees above average yesterday, and we may see close to 30 degrees above average again tomorrow, maybe.
75 degrees in my house with windows open pretty much all day. Had to turn the A/C on to cool the house down in December!?! Who would of thought
