Happy Election Day everyone! I am dropping by for a very quick post tonight and will have a bigger one on later today. Here is a look at the headlines…
1. Mild temps as you head to the polls with temps in the low 70s under sunny skies
2. Mild weather continues through Thursday with highs stuck in the 70s. Not bad!
3. Cold front moves in Thursday night with a few showers and maybe a thundershower. Nothing major in terms of rains.
4. Colder air moves in for the weekend with a few showers and highs in the 40s. Any flake threat looks minimal right now.
5. Stormy pattern setting up next week that should lead to very good rain chances.
6. Still on pace for a turn toward an early start to winter into the second half of November. ![]()
Go vote and we will chat later. Take care.

Thanks Chris! AT LAST! It’s our turn to have our say at the polls! I have to admit though, as much as I enjoy watching politics during presidental campaigns, I’m very glad it’s all over. Everyone be sure to make your voice heard and VOTE!
Thanks Chris…EXCELLENT day for voting. Never take your vote for granted.

I traveled to Va and Ohio not to mention door knocking, phone calls, speaking.I respect everyones vote and opinion JUST VOTE lol!! We have a great privilege in the USA!!!!! The weather is beautiful for it!!!!!
Good for you Tommy!!!!!! Where are you living now?????
I voted for a long, cold, and snowy winter. Of course it was a write in Ballot!!!! I wonder if Kentuckians have ever went to the polls with snow on the ground???
Hey Crystal! I voted at 6:00 this morning and had to stand in line 40 minutes! I was surprised because Versailles is really small! I think it’s a good sign though. I just wish every election had this kind of turn out!
Good question Michael S. I hope Chris or someone can answer that!
wxman: the 12z gfs has your snowy tuesday before thanksgiving prediction (joke) from yesturday 1 week early.
go out and vote and enjoy this nice weather. kids don’t bet on any late nov snow days the gfs has (yet).
i live in lexington, i wanted badly to go to school in co or az but out of state tuition would put me in lifelong debt 😀 going to school here will only put me in debt for 20 or 30 years lol
i wouldn’t bet on too much snow this month atleast of the accumulating variety, november storms tend to bring snow on a line from tx and oklahoma towards the great lakes leaving ky on the southern and eastern side of low pressure
chris: does the late night chat include something about monday?? it looks a little intresting.
How so??
00z looks mucbh warmer than earlier runs which gave us an outside shot at some wintery stuff.
Given the GFS’s sensitivity to the initial conditions that start the model, I can not believe you guys are chasing down day 7-10 fantasy solutions. Given the increasing amplification over the next week…the GFS and NAM solutions will be “jumping” all over the place.
