Good Saturday to one and all. We continue to see a wild setup taking shape across our part of the world Rounds of showers and thunderstorms will continue to put down heavy rains through Monday. In between the action… temps get set to soar. Even then… wild swings are on the way. Is that too complicated for ya? Yea… me too! 🙂
A few showers and storms work across the region from south to north today. This is on the nose of very warm and moist air pushing in behind a warm front. Locally heavy rains will be noted in these showers and storms, and that can cause local high water issues, again. A few storms could also be on the strong side.
Temps then surge into the upper 60s to low 70s.
Those same warm temps will be back on Sunday as the front sags back to the south. That will bring a band of showers and storms back into the region as we see a HUGE temp spread set up from north to south. That takes us into Monday with a 30 degree spread possible. Wow!
A big storm system then winds up and finally rolls in here during the afternoon and evening. The flow ahead of this comes from the deep tropics…
That means very gusty winds of 40mph or greater, thunderstorms, and very heavy rains Monday into Monday night. High water issues may become a problem, once again.
Much colder air comes in behind this system for Tuesday into Wednesday. The European Model is adamant on developing a cold rain maker by Wednesday…
If that’s true… one more round of heavy, cold rain would fall across our region, and would be another high water maker.
Tired of the rain? Don’t answer that… it’s rhetorical.
Winter is flipping on the switch as we end 2015 and start 2016. Below normal temps slide in here during this time with some snow flurries or snow showers possible on New Year’s Day. The air for this weekend looks cold for much of the country, with the Canadian Model going crazy…
That’s too cold for my liking, but you get the overall idea.
That same Canadian Model ends the weekend with a system coming out of the Gulf…
We shall see, but the progression of this winter appears to be going as planned.
I leave you with your Saturday weather toys…
I will have another update later today. Make it a good one and take care.
After such a gorgeous Christmas day rain is back again. Be glad we get out of this pattern were in.. Have a nice day!!!!
This is as warm, humid, sticky stretch of weather as I’ve ever seen during the winter. My Easter bushes have bloomed and the lawn seems to be growing again..
Ensembles continue to point toward a rather robust -AO with a +PNA early Jan..NAO also looks to go neutral..Looks kind of dry though..With an active STJ one would think it’s only a matter of time before cold meets moisture..
My phone doesnt like the new interactive radar. What i tried to read disappears, its like the writing disappears from the page. Slow to scroll up and down.
Glad most rain missed northern clay co today. It sure rained yesterday, water was up in places.
