Good afternoon everyone. I wanted to drop by for a quick update in order to make sure we get the NWS in to add a trace of snowfall in Lexington to Monday’s Climate report. It looks like they are trying to verify some flakes since they put down a MM under the daily snowfall.
While I no longer live there… I am going to continue to fight for accurate record keeping in the city. Something that has improved a great deal in recent years and I want to see it get even better. Many bloggers have confirmed it snowed in Lexington Monday. My pld pals at WKYT also saw the snow and sleet. Now we get another confirmation from the Lexington Herald Leader…
Wet snow was in Lexington’s air Monday afternoon, but the first taste of real winter — a freeze — isn’t expected until Wednesday morning.
After a Tuesday morning low in the low 30s, the forecast calls for clear skies and lighter winds Tuesday night.

While the assertion that a freeze is more of a taste of winter than snow is crazy… they say the same thing that almost everyone else does. IT SNOWED IN LEXINGTON MONDAY! If I am not mistaken it was the first time snow has ever been recorded in Lexington on October 27th.
I am sure the folks at the NWS in Louisville will put it down on the books. If not… the blog awaits! hahahah ![]()
Take care everyone.
Hey Chris,
Glad I found your website! When will the winter weather prediction be available? I hope there is lots of snow in there for all of us =)
Yes, this is what I was asking a few posts ago…will they add it? From a climatological point of view, they should add a trace of snowfall to the record.
It even snowed in Lawrenceburg, and pretty hard from what my grandmother told me. Though it didn’t last all that long, the fact is it still snowed.
Looks like the mid and late part of NOV. may very well be interesting!! CHris has been saying it now in the last couple of post, and I just got done listening to Joe Bastardi over at accuweather. He is saying the same thing as Bailey is, that The AO is going neg. after the 10th, and to look forward to some major winter weather event east of the Miss. and west of the App. Mnts…BINGO…sounds good to me…I guess we’ll have to wait and see
I thought this was interesting..its the forecast for a place called old forge,N.Y. (if only we could get this)
