Good Monday everyone and thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to stop by the blog and see what words of weather wisdom I can offer you. As many of you know… I am back at WKYT for a few days helping out my old station since they are low on Meteorologists this week. I am working the evenings through Wednesday if you want to flip over and check us out.

I was back on the air Sunday evening for the first time at WKYT in more than four months. Hard to believe it has been that long. But… to quote this guy….

It’s good to be “back in the saddle again“!

As far as the weather goes… BIG changes are on the way this week. Changes that will take us from Summer into the coldest air of the season so far by the weekend. Highs Monday and Tuesday will warm into the low to mid 80s again as we continue to flirt with record highs.

A cold front will move closer to us by late Wednesday into Thursday with the threat for a few showers or thunderstorms. The rains do not look all that impressive right now. Highs Wednesday will flirt with 80 before dropping to near 70s Thursday.

Another system will be dropping into the region Friday and take on a clipper type look to it. This will likely bring another round of , at least, some scattered showers. The big news is what comes in behind this low and that is some VERY cold air for the weekend. Check out the European model for Saturday…

You know what those maps say to me? Goodbye growing season!! Lows Saturday and Sunday mornings will dip toward the freezing mark and maybe even below. Upper 20s anyone?  This means a killing frost or even a freeze is a strong possibility this weekend. Highs Saturday may not hit 60 with only low 60s for Sunday. Now THAT is my kind of weather!!

Have a great Monday gang and I will update things again later this evening. Until then… “i’m back in the saddle again…”

Take care.
