Good Friday to one and all. Since we are heading into a weekend full of sunny skies and temps in the 80s I thought we would have a little flashback to the great decade of the 1980s.
For those of us who grew up in the 80s… we remember such tv shows as…

We grew up on the wonderful sounds of the 80s and remember Michael Jackson looking like this…
Instead of this…
It was the decade of such cool things as…

Ahh… what a decade! ![]()
So… we dedicate our upcoming mid October heat wave to those wonderful years.
Low to mid 80s will be with us into early next week under partly sunny skies. The leaves are showing some good color across the region so it should be a great time to get out and enjoy the sights. A cold front will move toward us by late Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. This front may try to check up across the region. The latest run of the GFS thinks it has a shot to do just that and this could mean a better chance for rain. Here is a look at the precip totals for next Wednesday and Thursday…
Here is hoping that comes to pass as we could use a lot more rain than what we got on Wednesday! I will update things again over the weekend. Don’t forget that I will be back on the tube on WKYT once again for a few days starting this Sunday. More on that later.
Until next time… I leave you with another classic from the 80s…
Take care!

Hey Chris
Great post! This front and the possibility of “checking up” in our general area. The sep 2006 heavy rain event we had here; was that a similar set up that what is possible?
Thanks Chris for the update….have a GREAT weekend. 🙂
Gosh Chris…those were all my favorite shows! You forgot Knight Rider though…the original was on at 8:00 Monday nights on NBS and it was WAY better than the current remake.
As far as the wx goes…wild times are ahead as we are now in the transition between Summer and Winter. Cold airmasses to our north will now start trying to dive bomb us, while the hard-to-budge warm airmasses to the south attempt to anchor themselves. Should provide some much needed rain here…let’s just hope the Fall severe wx season is not a deadly one this year.
Ahhhh… A Christmas Story is required viewing in our house. The 24-hour marathon stays on most of Christmas day!!
Bring on the rain!! Even though I’ll be at Keeneland, it doesn’t matter. Hooray for the Polytrack. 🙂
I’m looking forward to having Chris back on my TV.
Chris…you’re so cleaver with the lead in to your stories! However, like the years of the 80’s (I also remember those hair styles UGH!) I want to leave those 80’s temps behind! LOL!
I love the A-team!!!!!
Don’t like these non fall like temps and more dryness, better times are ahead hopefully. 80’s tv shows: what about BJ & the Bear!!!!!
Look at the NOAA national warnings map and much of Montana and Wyoming are under winter storm warnings. I’m looking at a radar in that area that doesn’t look very impressive at all so far.
