Hello gang and thanks for playing along for the BIG news! The title says it all… you will be seeing your friendly weatherdude on WKYT again soon. There is a catch… I will only be there for one week in October bringing you your daily dose of weather once again from the big 27.
How is all this working you ask? Well… WKYT and my current station WSAZ are both owned by the same company. WKYT will be shorthanded for the week of October 13th as both TG and Todd have prepaid trips out of town. WSAZ has 4 weather people so my old boss hit my new station up for a loaner (me) and the two sides worked out an agreement to allow me to go back and help out. Don’t expect to be getting up with the chickens to see me though as I will be working the evening shows instead of mornings.
It will be a little strange going back… but it should be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see all my old friends again.
So… there you have it… your old weatherman coming back for a week. That should confuse the viewers some!!! ![]()
Take care.

Chris i am so sad a week is just not enough but i will be there watching the hole week….
Chris will you be doing this more in the future if needed????? I had you going to the national weather service lol,I bet you got a laugh out of that one!!!! Now I can go to bed and sneeze all night in my husbands ear!!!!
I am really excited you will be back for a week!! BUt i have to say I am disappointed it isn’t permanent. 🙁 Oh well, a week is better than nothing I guess…..It will be great to have you back Chris! At least for a short time
Crystal have you try nasonex nasal spray its great?????
Hey guys maybe we could talk to wkyt and have them chain our favorite weather dude to his seat so we can keep him JUST A THOUGHT JUST KIDDING we better let him go….
Chris. Glad to hear you’re coming back, even if it’s only for a week. On one of your future posts can you give us your thoughts on the dreaded southeast ridge? I was reading other national forums and they were talking about it. Apparently it even inhibits snow in the Mid-Atlantic and lower coastal New England. I couldn’t help but look at the monthly and three monthly predictions for precip and temps and the southeast precip they have as below normal. Not again!
Chris,
It will be great to have you back. I only use it were for good. However, I will take a week. May you can do that every month? Hint!!!! It will be wonderful just to know that you are here. Take care friend. We love ya.
Sorry for the words left out. It is late and my fingers don’t work right.
Chris……It’ll be so good to see your cute mug back on Wkyt again. I was afraid you were traveling farther away. I even thought you might be joining the NWS team! LOL
I am so relieved that you are leaving the viewing area permanently, Chris! I’m one of the lucky ones who can watch you on WSAZ and WKYT, and I know that sounds selfish. Don’t mean to, but over the years I have become addicted to your weather forecast, and your personality, along with the accurate weather predictions, is a big part of it. So, casting selfishness aside, let me say that if you did choose to leave the area, I would wish you the best of luck. At the same time, I am just so happy that you aren’t!
Well, the naysaying predictions are coming out about our upcoming winter. I will wait and see what you have to say before I start getting worried.
Thanks for letting us know, and have fun on your week back at WKYT.
One of your nonprofessional weather junkies,
Rhonda
OOPS! I left out the word not from my previous post! I meant that I am relieved you are NOT leaving the viewing area permanently! All I can say folks, is that it is too early in the morning to type correctly.
Sorry about that, Chris. But you know what I meant.
Sorry to hear you’re feeling bad. Is it the mold allergies or the pollen or both?
Thanks Chris for the BIG news…I can’t wait to see you again on my TV.
Maybe the week you are in town we will have some weather with some excitment in it. IE: some rain falling or something. Long range looks dry into October. NOT good. Increased fire danger. This pattern is not what we need. Chris what’s the October outlook for precipitation and temps??
NAM continues to advertise isolated t-storms in Kentucky all weekend…esp. the farther west you go. Let’s hope that maybe we can squeeze a storm or two out of the atmosphere here in the Bluegrass…
I am so excited that Chris is coming back even if it is just a week. I have really enjoyed this site though as it has kept us all connected. Maybe we could have a get together while you are in town, Chris? Just a thought.
What week will you be here, Chris? It will be great to have you back. Let’s hope you have some rain to talk about because it’s seriously dry here.
I see no rain at all in the long range forecast. 🙁
WXman that is exactly how rumors get started! Your post really had me thinking you were “in the know”, I am glad you were wrong. Look forward to seeing you on the afternoon news Chris, although preferred seeing you on the morning show!
🙂 figured I’d get some of you
Yeah! Can’t wait to see you!
Chris,
I am so glad you will be visiting Lexington in October. Although, I was hoping you would be coming back to stay. I know a week is better than none at all. Welcome back! Hope you bring some rain with you as we are very dry.
We know your track record WXMan some of us are smarter than you give us credit for 😉 not all but some 😛
Marsha can you get it without a prescription???
I don’t know Patty I think its both.Today I have been running a little fever to go with it so i believe i now have a sinus infection with the allegies.I wish we would have an early freeze and kill everything bad, not everyone’s pretty flowers.Don’t tar and feather me lol just ragweed and so forth. It’s probaly my 14 year old cat, last night it was funny i would sneeze my cat would meow my husband would snore. i would keep sneezing and my cat kepy meowing or sound like he was crying and my husband would snore. finally my husband raised up and said my godness is this a 2 ring cirus with you two!!!!! I said 3 ring if you count yourself lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great idea Marsha I will bring the chain lol!!!!!!!!
That’s so funny Crystal! I shared a room with my parents years ago. Of course there was snoring. I’d say “Daddy turn over”! He’d say “It’s your Mother”! A little later more snoring, I’d tell my Mom “Turn Over”! She’d say “it’s your Father!! I never found out which one was snoring. Needless to say I always got my own room after that! LOL!
I can’t wait….so exited, so excited!!
A week of watching Chris giving the weather….
