Good Wednesday everyone and thanks for blogging with us. The weather around here continues to be very easy forecasting for the next week or so as there isn’t going to be much change. It’s a what you see is what you get kind of forecast.

Since things are so quiet… let’s start talking a little bit about how our North American snow cover is looking as we start moving closer and closer to fall. Tracking snow cover is a very important and fun thing to do to get you in that winter mood. After all… a good snow cover across Canada in the fall is usually a good sign for those hoping for a cold winter down here in the states.

I am going to show you the latest maps from the north pole. Think of these maps as looking down on the top of the world that has been flattened out for you. Our first map is the snow and ice cover from this time last year…

Now compare that to the same exact date from this year…

You will notice 2008 is showing much more in the way of snow and ice than we were seeing this time last year. So… we are off to a good start and I think we are going to see this increase in snows continue across the northern hemisphere. I have noted in recent weeks just how cold Canada has been and that is HUGE for more snows. Check out this precip type forecast…

More snow for Canada.. eh!

So chew on all this information for a little while and we will continue to update the progress of the snow cover in the coming weeks.

I will have your BIG news with my post later Tonight so check back for the latest and greatest in breaking weatherdude news!

Take care.
