Good Wednesday everyone. Our work week is now halfway over with but it would appear our nice temperatures are going to be sticking around for several more days. But… we are seeing the pattern trying it’s best to change up a bit in the coming days to one that is more likely to produce some showers.

The first system we are tracking will be our souther storm that will head through the Carolinas into the northeastern US. A very fall and winter like track. This will bring an increase in clouds to the state Wednesday with a shower or two across the southeastern mountains. Temps will be pretty easy… sunshine outside your house means 80-85… more clouds and you are stuck in the upper 70s to near 80.

Low level moisture looks to be rather plentiful in a northwesterly flow setting up for Thursday and Friday. This means a few showers will likely be on the move across Kentucky. The NAM shows some of those showers we are talking about. Here is a look at the Friday afternoon map…

Temps over the course of Thursday and Friday will be totally cloud and shower dependent. Highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s look pretty good to me right now. That is lower than what I was thinking earlier this week as our fall pattern does NOT want to let go. Unsettles weather will continue into next week. Now… warmer temps will try to build in according to the models. But… with a wet pattern likely developing… we shall see.

By the way… check out the map above and cast your eyes to the bottom right hand corner. The NAM is forecasting one of our little Atlantic systems to develop into a storm and head toward Florida. Several other models are also showing something similar to this next week.

I was looking a the REALLY looooooong range models to see what glimpse they may give us into our fall months that are fast approaching. Some of the seasonal models are showing a chilly fall for a lot of the region. Check out these two maps from the CFS model…

October 22nd

October 23rd

While those are strictly for entertainment purposes only… some flakes before Halloween? Those maps certainly show it. Now don’t go yelling that your friendly weather dude is forecasting snow in October! Well… that is unless it actually does snow in October then you are allowed to scream it from the tops of the mountains.

Go out and have a great Wednesday and I will update you again later in the day.

Take care.
