Good Tuesday to one and all. There just isn’t a whole lot else I can say about the weather that we have been seeing for the past several days. Lexington did indeed set a record low Monday morning. I believe the blog is the only place that said this was possible. Seems the government folks are too busy with the hot air balloon forecast for Louisville to check on such minute details as a record low! I am mainly just poking a little fun here. But… there is some truth to my humor.

The record low Tuesday is 51 and I think that one is safe. Many areas will see thermometers fall to between 50 and 55 to start out the new day. Just like Monday… a few upper 40s will be noted in the east. Partly sunny skies will lead to pleasant temps once again with highs in the low 80s for most of us.

Our southern stream storm is still going to pass to our south as it takes a track from Texas to North Carolina. That’s a track that is so un-August like that it isn’t funny. If this were winter… well you know the routine… a miss! Clouds will increase Wednesday and I can’t rule out a shower anywhere. The best chance will be in the south and southeast. Highs will be tricky and should top out in the upper 70s and low 80s.

It gets fairly unsettled for Thursday and Friday into the coming weekend. The NAM shows a nice little system dropping in behind our low…

Our shower and thunderstorm chances will be on the increase Friday into the weekend as a potent closed low pressure system slowly moves in from the west.

Some of the models are showing some good rains setting up shop around here. Check out the GFS rain totals from late Thursday into Saturday afternoon…

Temps will have to be handled carefully as we get closer. But… with clouds and rain chances… we could easily see a continuation of the below normal temps. The humidity levels will be VERY high though.

The pattern will start to look more like it should later next week. Watch out for the tropics!!! They are coming alive very quickly. Here is a map for you showing the areas of interest…

Area number 1 will likely become a depression or storm within the next 24 hours. Number 2 has a good shot before the week is over.

I will update again later Tonight. Take care and thanks for blogging with us.
