Good Friday to one and all! The weekend is upon us and the weather is looking gooood for the 2nd week of August. It is taking on the look of September and your friendly weather dude has NO complaints. Since things are fairly calm… let’s get a little weather recap with the headlines.
Here we go…
1. Our Friday will be a nice one with temps within a few degrees of 80 in all areas. Obviously, the typical warmer south, cooler north scenerio will play out. I can’t rule out some afternoon clouds or even an isolated shower… especially in the north and east.
2. Saturday and Sunday look good as well. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s will be the rule. I am keeping an eye on our northwesterly wind flow. It’s one that can bring a little disturbance or two that can lead to one or two pesky afternoon showers. Most, if not all, of the weekend will be dry.
3. Lows this weekend will dip into the 50s. How lo can we go will depend on any clouds and wind.
4. Temps will be returning to near normal for all of next week with low to mid 80s for highs.
5. Next week will also likely feature an increasingly wet pattern taking shape. This will especially be the case from the middle of the week on.
6. Look for the computer models to struggle with the pattern ahead of us! ![]()
7. I have been on record for several days now talking about a second half of August burst of tropical activity. That time is fast approaching. All is calm and quiet right now!
Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend my friends. I will udpate as usual over the weekend so make sure you check back.
Take care.

Thanks Chris for keeping us updated.
Thanks Chris……There are a lot of things to do here in the central part of the state this week end! The 127 yard sales and the mid summer nights run in Lexington for a couple! I’m excited! Everyone enjoy!!
Thanks Chris for the update…have a GREAT weekend. 🙂
The Flute Symphony of Lexington will appreciate the fine weather for our outdoor concert, Sunday 7pm at Centenary U.M. Church. Thanks for ordering that just for us, Chris 🙂
This has been the most BORING summer weather wise in Lexington anyway. Earlier this year, we had about 4 really good storms in the northwest fayette area…But it has just died and stayed dead. Can’t wait for unsettled.. Sad but true 🙂
