Good VERY early Wednesday morning. I don’t have a whole lot of time for this post but will get one on for you a little later this morning. Let’s look at some of the headlines.
1. A cluster of strong and severe thunderstorms is rolling across the region overnight. This will dump plenty of heavy rain so watch the streams.
2. We still need to watch for some more storms firing up during the day Wednesday… especially in the south.
3. Much cooler air will pour in for the end of the week and the weekend.
4. Highs in the low to mid 80s will be with us for Thursday and Friday then upper 70s and low 80s for the weekend. Lows will be well down into the low 50s. Upper 40s?
I will update again later this morning. Take care.

Strong thunderstorm currently in northern Laurel Co (East Bernstadt). Heavy rain and lots of cloud-to-ground lightning. Pretty sure I even heard a little bit of hail falling at the onset.
Good Morning Chris! How are you adjusting to your new schedule? Storms rolled through Versailles around 3:00 this morning. I can’t wait for those cooler temps to arrive. It’ll make for a very nice outdoor activity weekend. Can’t wait!!!
Patty have you made it okay at work? Glad the heat was not as bad as it could have been.Patty have you heard or seen a book The Phoenix Lights i can’t find it here at all,oh i know i will check ebay if they don’t have it no one will lol!!!!!!
Thanks Chris for the update.
Good morning, Chris, and thanks for the update! Between you and TG, I am able to keep up on the weather very nicely, thank you! I will say that if we had a storm inSomerset this morning, then it must not have been much. I saw where we had had a few sprinkles, but I did not hear any thunder or lightning,or wind, either.
I am hoping that we do get some reain today. WE are still in need of some here, though we got almost 2 inches last week from that system.
I am looking forward to the cooler weekend. WE just might get out and get the deck cleaned and stained, if the forecast holds for good weather. It will be almost perfect for that!
Chris, just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the fact that you are still blogging weather with us here, even though I know your new job is very demanding. thanks so much for your dedication to all of us, as well as your new weather community! YOu are ‘da man!:)
Sorry about the emphasis on the word WE in the last comment. It was not intentional. My keyboard wants to stick sometimes when I hit the shift button. Sorry!
Thanks for asking Crystal…I manage to get by, but it’s hard most days. If you can’t find that book call Joseph-Beth in Lexington and they can tell you if it can be ordered. If it can they’ll do it for you and mail it.
I think he must have fell asleep again 😉

Good morning Chris! I can’t wait to hear anything what you think may happen in the fall and the winter months. I know it’s hard to predict what’s in store for a season, but it’s fun to speculate. Anything to get us dreaming of cooler weather, chili, football and the hope of a big snow!
