Good Friday everyone! I want to start off by saying a big thanks to each of you for taking the time out of your busy lives to leave me nice comments and e-mails about my first day at WSAZ. I really appreciate it and you helped make me feel at home and that really helped me out. Going to a new place is a little strange… but knowing you guys were there for me put me at ease. I know many of you don’t get WSAZ, but you were still interested enough to check it out online. Although I haven’t met most of you… you are my friends! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now, let’s talk a little weather.

Our weekend is upon us and so is the chance for some scattered storms. It looks like a warm front will head back to the north into the area. Temps will be on the rise outside of any storms so some mid to upper 80s will be possible through Sunday. Areas with clouds and storms will be much cooler. That kind of falls into the duh category!

Another shot of a few storms rolling southeastward will be with us starting Monday into Tuesday. This will be on the nose of some realy plains heat. My concern is we may actually get in on some of this heat for a few days by the middle of next week with a 90 possible. This is a change in my thinking from the past few days. Regardless… another trough will dig in by the ned of next weekend into the following weekend to help cool us off.

Speaking of cooling us off… check out the new monthly temps from the CFS model…

The blue on the map shows were temps would be below normal and that is pretty much centered on top of us right on through January. Is it right?  Who knows… but it would certainly put a smile on the faces of some winter lovers around here. You know I have been talking about how the Pacific waters from this year are mirroring those of the same time from 1976. Hmmm… maybe the model is sensing that?

I will update through the weekend as usual. Take care.
