Hi Everyone and welcome to a brand new day for your friendly weather dude. It’s the day that launches my new weather career at WSAZ-TV in Huntington. After training and learning as much as I can about the new weather equipment and my new surroundings… my brain hurts!
But… I am ready for the challenge and eager to get back in front of that weather wall for the first time in more than 3 weeks.
The folks at WSAZ are great and have welcomed me with open arms. They have put together a nice little promotion package to introduce me to the viewers. The have some new commercials airing and here is a link to some stuff, including an interview, on their website. Me and WSAZ
You can leave some comments there… but only if they are nice!
My new blog will be up and running on the site later Thursday.
Hey… let’s talk some weather.
Hurricane Dolly did just what I talked about Tuesday and that was strengthen into a Cat 2 storm before making landfall in south Texas. It’s well over land now and will continue to weaken out. Here is a look at the rest of the tropics…
Everything else is fairly quiet. But… there is a nice little wave of low pressure just coming on the edge of the screen out in the Atlantic. This has a shot to develop in the coming days.
For Kentucky… our Thursday looks goooooood. Partly sunny skies and temps in the low to mid 80s for highs. That will follow morning lows in the mid 50s. Friday will see a return of a few clouds and even a couple of thunderstorms across the west. The best chances for storms will come over the weekend and a few of those could be a little strong with some locally heavy rains.
Temps will be much better all the way through next week. Highs should generally run around normal.
Thanks for all the nice emails I have already received at my new job… you guys are the best! Oh yeah… feel free to email anytime: chris.bailey@wsaz.com
Take care my friends!

I have missed seeing you on WKYT, so I’m really glad you have this website. I wish you luck in your new job and wish I could get your new channel so I can watch you, but alas, I don’t. Have a great first day!
Thanks Chris…I too wish I had WSAZ. Good luck there. 🙂
Just got done listening to your excellent interview on WSAZ website & read their write up on ya, Chris. I’m glad they are welcoming you in this way. I was getting alittle concerned cuz I was wondering if they were even going to mention your arrival. Anyway, all is well & am looking forward to reading & seeing you on the internet as well as your blogs.
I haven’t said much here lately just because I haven’t really had much to say. But I do check in daily at least.
Chris- Best of luck with the new gig. I hope it proves to be everything you hoped for, and you get the time you desire with your family. And I hope they are smart enough to compensate you for the time you give to the blog!!! 😀
Good luck Chris, I hope your first day goes well.
I know one thing the TRI-STATE area has no Idea what kind of JEWEL that have yet. When those weather lovers up there get to blog live weather with Chris they will think its CHRISTMAS TIME..LOL..
I see WSAZ going #1 real soon in that area.
…………………..
O.K. lets see, hmm is there any weather at all to talk about today?? BORING…
How may days is it till WINTER??
To many
For those of you who can’t get enough of Bailey’s blogs (yes, I said plural), his blog is up and running on WSAZ’s website.
WSAZ is gonna have to post their comments alittle quicker on the Bailey blog..or the live bloggin will never work out… Everyone go over and check it out its up and running with Bailey’s mug shot..lol..
let them folks over there know just what they are getting !!!
……………..
UHMMM… is it winter yet???…lol…
I agree with you. That was exactly what I was thinking. How will it ever be “live blogging” when a person posted two hours ago and it still hasn’t appeared? Would WSAZ really have the space to hold Bailey’s entries?
Snowflakes? Anyone see snowflakes yet? HMMM Maybe by the time they fall, our comments will appear on the SAZ blog. lol J/K 🙂
I left a comment as well this morning on Chris’s WSAZ blog but its not there!
They don’t like us guys 🙁
j/k… im sure they’ll work it out hopefully for the blogs sake..
Its getting about time for some Fall/winter hints to start flying.. I sure hope we get some decent snows this yr. funny, it sounds just like what we’ve been saying for the past 10yrs… we gotta break this cycle sooner or later…hopefully before I’m too old to enjoy it..LOL..

Marsha,
You can comment on the blog, but patience at this point will be the key. When your comment will be posted cannot be predicted because I am assuming it is up to the moderator to approve it or not …if and when that might happen.
Marsha at 5 you should be able to go to WSAZ.com homepage and click the live streaming video. Wkyt.com has this also as well as about every newschannel anymore. You can watch just about everynews cast on the web now its nice for folks that dont get a certain channel or miss the news for other reasons… Oh yeah and marsha he will be doing the 10 pm news to on the MyZ channel you can click that also from the wsaz site.

Marsha and Tim:
The good thing, too, is that if you miss the live stream, you can also watch him later if you happen to miss it.
