Hi Everyone and welcome to a brand new day for your friendly weather dude. It’s the day that launches my new weather career at WSAZ-TV in Huntington. After training and learning as much as I can about the new weather equipment and my new surroundings… my brain hurts! But… I am ready for the challenge and eager to get back in front of that weather wall for the first time in more than 3 weeks.

The folks at WSAZ are great and have welcomed me with open arms. They have put together a nice little promotion package to introduce me to the viewers. The have some new commercials airing and here is a link to some stuff, including an interview, on their website. Me and WSAZ

You can leave some comments there… but only if they are nice! My new blog will be up and running on the site later Thursday.

Hey… let’s talk some weather.

Hurricane Dolly did just what I talked about Tuesday and that was strengthen into a Cat 2 storm before making landfall in south Texas. It’s well over land now and will continue to weaken out. Here is a look at the rest of the tropics…

Everything else is fairly quiet. But… there is a nice little wave of low pressure just coming on the edge of the screen out in the Atlantic. This has a shot to develop in the coming days.

For Kentucky… our Thursday looks goooooood. Partly sunny skies and temps in the low to mid 80s for highs. That will follow morning lows in the mid 50s. Friday will see a return of a few clouds and even a couple of thunderstorms across the west. The best chances for storms will come over the weekend and a few of those could be a little strong with some locally heavy rains.

Temps will be much better all the way through next week. Highs should generally run around normal.

Thanks for all the nice emails I have already received at my new job… you guys are the best! Oh yeah… feel free to email anytime: chris.bailey@wsaz.com

Take care my friends!
